Chapter 4

1054 Words
It was around 10 pm. Nathan was exhausted enough from all the chaos that happened along his way till heading back home. He entered his family Mansion majestically at a gallant pace while taking off his cap. It was a magnificent mansion located at the center of the city. The mansion appeared quite dark and desolate from outside but was always guided by loyal guards. The most important thing about the mansion was that all the people who lived there were members of Nathan's pack. Everyone served their alpha with the utmost pleasure. The housekeepers and the butlers bowed politely before him. All of them were werewolves as they strictly prohibited access to any human beings inside the mansion. "Welcome back, master." They chanted rhythmically before bowing. "Goodness, what a tiresome night!" He spoke in an obscure tone while walking straight to his room. . . "Are you tired, brother?" A lively yet vivacious voice called him from behind. Nathan was quite familiar with the voice and he sighed agitatedly. With an annoyed gesture, he turned back. A tall, handsome person with dark brown shimmering hair properly styled with gel, and a well-groomed gentleman in a black suit ornamented with a classic golden wolf-brooch was standing behind him. He had a cryptic smirk on his face while gasping at Nathan. "You...didn't answer me, brother?" He whined again while walking close to Nathan with a cheeky smile. Nathan frowned his eyebrows while gazing at him. "Look, Lucas. I am very tired today. I don't wanna deal with your nonsense. Bother me tomorrow." He answered frigidly while turning back to head back towards his room. Immediately, Lucas jumped higher with his strong and muscular legs and landed before Nathan. He stood firmly before him to block his way towards his room. "You know very well that you can't escape from your little brother!" He winked spookily to pester him furthermore. "Lucas, don't act like a kid! You are already 110 years old! I am tired today." Nathan grumbled at him in an angry voice while glaring at him. Lucas seemed desperate to give him a hard time. He walked closer to Nathan with a sly grin on his face. "Why are you tired? What did you..." Suddenly he stopped speaking and his face darkened a bit. With scrunched eyebrows, he gasped at Nathan inquisitively. "You... You smell a little different, Brother Nathan!" He murmured intensely with his eyes fixated on him. Nathan panicked a bit at the unexpected confrontation. Immediately, he averted his gaze from Lucas as he wanted to avoid his awkward questions. "Move from here, I need to take a nap," Nathan answered him in a rugged manner. Lucas seemed too inquisitive of the smell. He rolled his eyes and brought his face much closer to Nathan's chest. (Sniff Sniff) He was sniffing over his shirt to get a complete hold of the unknown fragrance. Abruptly, Nathan pushed his face away from his chest. "What are you doing? Are you a dog?" Nathan sounded very infuriated as he shrieked in a deep voice. Lucas raised his left eyebrow and sneered cunningly at him. "I knew it, this is a sweet fragrance of a lady. But humans generally don't have such a unique smell! So, you were busy with a woman, am I right?" He continued to pester him. He was extremely irritated by his behavior. Without giving an answer, he started walking towards his room. Lucas was too energetic to continue his nagging as he followed him all the way to his room. "Is she a werewolf? Is she pretty? Did you book a room for her in our hotel? Did you use contraceptives?" Lucas was asking him deliberately in a mystical resonance. Suddenly, Nathan halted and turned back towards him angrily. "Shut the f*ck up!" He groaned at him fiercely in a dense tone. "Ahhhh, then why are you avoiding me? You know it very well. I won't stop irritating you till you satisfy my curiosity!" He pouted his face while responding back to him. Nathan sighed with his persistent reply. "She was an unknown human, I just happened to save her life." He exclaimed in a mystic gesture while rolling his eyes. "Human?" Lucas folded his arms and continued to ask him with anticipation, "but humans don't have this unique smell! Is she really a human?" He continued his dubious interrogation. "Yeah, she is a human. Now don't bother me anymore today." He turned back and was about to leave after responding to him. "Wait a minute," Lucas immediately grabbed his hand and stopped him to leave. "Why did you help an unknown human? Were you captivated by her smell? Do you like her?" He had an evil smirk on his lips while his eyes were gleaming mischievously. Nathan shoved his hand from his grasp and glared at him viciously. "Stop blabbering nonsense, Lucas. She is a mere human, we are the polar opposite of each other." He rumbled in a fiery resonance. Lucas gazed at him with a broad grin on his face. "If you don't like her, can I eat her? It's been so long I have devoured a human heart, I crave it! And she smells really delicious!" He licked his lips with his tongue while speaking with a devilish gaze in his eyes. As if he was already getting impatient for her! Nathan at the moment, unknowingly, was fuming in wrath at his deceitful proposal. He walked close to Lucas and stared at his eyes intensely. "Stop killing innocent humans for your ridiculous craving! She is already leading a miserable life. Don't harm her. Take it as a warning to you!" He threatened him in a dense voice with his eyes blazing in rage and immediately left for his room without wasting a further minute. Lucas stood there momentarily for a few minutes while watching him letting go. He had a malicious smile on his face while staring at him from behind. "I know you too well, brother. You won't help any human without a reason. She was indeed a special lady! Now you piqued my curiosity, even more, to find her at any cost! She must be someone really exceptional!" He blurted out in a shrewd voice with his eyes intaking a deep blue coloration.
