The Midnight Sky

It’s dark all there are the Giant sequoia everywhere they surround and engulf me in this darkness as I try to escape. I run as fast as I can but it doesn’t ever seem to end, I run, and run until my feet hurt from pain until I can’t run anymore. As I try to suck in my breath , I notice I can’t breathe, why can’t I breathe I look down and………I wake with a cold sweat, disgusting, I get up out of my bed and make my way out of my house to the well, I grab two buckets of water hoping it’s enough, as I’m make my way back into the house into the bathroom I realize I had two more buckets in the bathroom, I fill up my tub and it’s the perfect amount, I use some runes to heat up the water. I get in when the temperature is just right soap up my rag and start to get all the sweat of my body. For breakfast I decided on a piece of bread it’s not the best but I don’t really feel like cooking right now or really ever when I wake up. Every single night for the past three years I have had the same dream and I always wake up right before I find out why I can’t breathe. As I walk down the gravel path in the village I head to the market in hopes to find something to eat for dinner I see Mrs.Brigs stall she really has the best meat.as I head up, and start looking at the meat I hear her call my name “Sona.” said Mrs.Brigs “what are you lookin for.” I stare at her blankly and say in a low voice “dinner”, “What do you plan to have for dinner today honey?”, “Meat.”I say. She smiles and me “ the Usual” she says, I just stare she starts the package the meat for me. “That’s four silver dear” she stated. I hand her the silver and walk away , in the distance I hear her yelling bye and how she hoped I have a nice dinner. As I walk back home I think about when I was younger me and my siblings running around outside and then the incident happened nothing was ever the same after the incident. I sigh. I finally make it back home but I stop in my tracks the door was open I dropped the meat I had, they found me after how careful I was they still found me. As I slowly back up I start to hear a pounding sound I look around trying to find the sound but I can’t find it anywhere then I realize it’s my heart, my heart is pounding like crazy. The door to my house opens more and I see it’s James I can’t go back I left for a reason and I turn to run I bump into a wall which is weird because there was never a wall there I look up and it’s Brandon as he looks down at me he says “it’s time to come home princess”. The next thing I know I blacked out.
