The White Crescent Coven

1011 Words
Nico Nico went to his room in his castle and collapsed on his bed. He was mostly healed. Between Hedda's magical healing tea and his vampiric healing, he had only a sealed sore where he had been shot. Magical bullets. He was thinking, how could the rebellion get their hands on magical bullets? There must be a witches' coven nearby. But where? Then his mind drifted to her as if drawn by a magnet. Her beauty haunted him. He couldn't get her out of his mind. She was a radiant beauty with her long, silken locks, piercing blue eyes, and that figure! Oh how she aroused him. Her allure was powerful. It overwhelmed him. He had to find her. She lived in The Wood River Pack. Werewolves. Ugh, he didn't want to see werewolves, but it's the only way he can see his Destined One. He had to win her heart. But, how? He can't send a spy to get information on her. He didn't know her name. He would sneak in and claim he was a werewolf, using the scent block that Hedda gave him. Hopefully, they would take him in. He could say he was banished by his pack for a crime he was innocent of and seeks a new pack to pledge his loyalty to. He would have his Uncle Evan rule in his stead. He trusted him. A knock was on his door. He sat up in his bed. "Come in," he said. It was his Uncle Evan. "I heard the uprising chased you from the castle. What in heavan’s name happened?" asked Uncle Evan. "I was overwhelmed by the rebels. They chased me down. But, I escaped," he answered. "These rebels must be stopped. They are misinformed and acting out of ignorance." "Indeed," Uncle Evan said as he sat down in a nearby chair. "Uncle Evan, I need you to rule in my stead while I am away. I have a task to attend to," said Nico. "What could be so important that you would leave now? Not now. Not during these dawned rebellion," replied Uncle Evan. "It's important. I found my Destined One," he confided in him. "Oh," was all Uncle Evan said. "So, you will handle things while I'm away?" asked Nico. "Of course, nephew. Anything you need. Go find your, Love." Uncle Evan wished him luck as he left the room. Nico laid down to rest but fell into a deep sleep and didn't wake until morning. When he awoke, he washed up, put on a fresh change of clothes and headed to The Wood River Pack. He walked all day so he looked disheveled and a man who was possibly banished. He came to the front gate and was stopped by guards. He could tell they were trying to identify his scent, but smiling nothing, grew confused. "What are you?" they asked gruffly. "I am Nico from the Moon Wood Pack nearby. I was banished for a crime I did not committ. I seeka new pack to pledge myself and my loyalty, too," said Nico. Nico could tell they were mind-linking a superior because they were silent with their faces very focused. Then, one of them said, "You may come in. I will show you to your quarters. You may wash up, eat, and rest. Tomorrow you will meet with our Alpha." He got in! Now he needed to convince the Alpha tomorrow of his sincerity. For now, he needed a shower. They showed him to a humble home that had everything to meet his basic needs. They even brought him a change of clothes and showed him where the Pack Dining Hall was. Nico took a hot shower. Afterwards, he changed into the new clothes. It felt good to be clean. He went to the dining hall where he was served hot stew and rolls. Everyone was curious about him and had many questions. He could tell that many of the female wolves were hitting on him, but he was disinterested. He had only one wolf that his heart vied for. Then he saw her. He got up and sat beside her before anyone else had the chance. Two men arguing over who got to sit on the other side of her were arguing. It was obvious that he wasn't the only one that coveted her. "Hello there," he said with a smile and a wink. "It's you! I can't believe you are here. How dud you get in here?" she asked. "They let me in. I came here for you," he said. "For me? What do you mean?" she asked. "Tell me you feel the magnetic draw toward each other. We are meant to be together, " he whispered. "I'm Nico," he then said and held out his hand. "I'm Lyla," she said as she gave her hand to shake his hand, but he took her hand and tenderly kissed the top of her hand. "Lyla. What a lovely name," he said. He saw her blush and he could tell that she was feeling what he felt. The connection. It was eternal. It was ethereal. God, how he loved her. "You are very charming," she said as she batted her long lashes. "That is because I am charmed by your radiant beauty," he said s he caressed her cheek. She smiled and blushed a little again. She looked so cute when her cheeks redden like that. "May I have a date with you tomorrow afternoon?" he asked. "I would like that a lot, Nico," she replied. "Say my name again, please," he requested. "Nico," she crooned as she traced his jawline with her fingertips. Yes, this woman is his everything. She took his breath away. They began eating their meal an shared details about their lives. He had to lie though. He couldn't reveal yet what he was. He wanted to win her heart first. Then, then maybe, she won't reject him when she finds out what he is. All he wants more than anything, in this universe, is her.
