Forming the New Coven

1033 Words
Lord Evingston Lord Evingston made it out of the woods...finally. Both werewolves and vampires were on his tail chasing him relentlessly. He made it out by the skin of his teeth. The only thing that saved him was his phenomenal speed. Ever since he was young, he was faster than all the other vampires when they would race. He inherited his great speed after years of high breeding, only the best with the best. He inherited superior genes and for that reason, and his title, he always viewed himself as superior. He managed to secure himself a storage facility to generate more income and to house vampires after they are freshly changed, during the full moon, when they become a bit "manic." Just like vampires in puberty, newly changed, have to spend a few full moons locked up or shackled to protect them from hurting someone. He also acquired himself an apartment and a fresh change of clothes so he doesn't look as if he walked out of a time machine. He won't be seen in the finest felt top hats and extravagant materials that molded him in the most exquisite of clothes. He not only needed to look modern, he no longer had access to his family's wealth. That was all tied up in the vampires' banks in the coven. He knew his next step was to create more vampires to serve under him. His end goal was to kill Alpha Bryer and Lord Hunter and take over as ruler of the coven. He also wanted to wipe out all the werewolves, but he knew that was a bit lofty of a goal. But first, he needed an army. He strolled into the first bar he came upon. There was a whole string of bars down this particular street. In the past, it would be a feeding ground. But, the modern day vampire laws stopped all that. Today, it would be where he would acquire his army. He sat down next to a buxom blond sipping a pink cocktail with an umbrella and cherries in it. "Hello there," he said to her as he sat down. "No," was all she said in a stern voice. "I just stopped by to have a chat. I wanted to ask..." "No, just NO!" she affirmed in an even more stern voice. "But, I..." he tried to tell her he wasn't hitting on her, but she clearly had been hit on so much by weird men that she had developed a complex. "I said, NO! Now, get outta here!" she said as she turned and finally looked at him, intent on getting rid of him. He was an older man in his early fifties in a college bar with a much younger crowd. He didn't quite fit in, even with his new look. He decided to stay away from the females and went and sat next to a group of young college-age men sitting around a table. "Hello folks," he said in a cheery voice. They ignored him and continued to watch the game on the t.v. "Might I interest you in a proposition? You see, I am..." "Hey, buddy, I don't care who you are. We're watching the game here," said gruffly by one of the men in a lettermen jacket. He realized he wasn't getting anywhere with this crowd. He tried the next bar. He realized he really walked into the wrong bar immediately as he approached the front door. A man with piercings and tattoos all over his body and face and blue hair waved him in. He obviously was the doorman responsible for keeping minors out. He reluctantly walked in and was immediately struck with death metal blaring loudly. He saw people everywhere in Mohawks, colored hair, and tats and piercings covering their face and body. He stuck out like a sore thumb. "What am I doing in here?" he thought. He decided to try his luck anyways and sat at a table of wild looking young people. They looked at him as if he had no clothes on. "I am a vampire," he blurted out. He had no idea why he just blurted it out. He didn't know what else to do. He was getting rejected left and right. "Yeah, sure you are," said one of the girls. "If you are then show me your teeth." It was against vampire law. It was a very strict law, indeed. "But, what the hell?" He figured, "What do I have to lose." Over his human-looking teeth, his vampire fangs grew out, looking ominous and fierce. One of the guys stood up in shock and spilled his drink. The others just stared with their mouths hanging open. Finally, someone spoke. "If you are a vampire, which it seems you are, can you change us?" asked a girl with long purple hair and several lip piercings. He didn't even have to ask. They wanted it. They accepted the reality that vampires exist and immediately wanted on board. The others chimed in, asking the same. He led them outside into the alley. One-by-one, he drained the blood from each of them until they were a whisper away from death. Then he used one of his razor sharp fangs and slit his own wrist half open. He dripped blood from his wrist into each of their mouths and willingly drank. They convulsed, moaned and screamed. He slipped a paper in the pocket of one of the guys trenchcoats as he writhed in pain. The note said: Meet me at 4439 Auburn St., Seattle. There, we will form our new coven. He then went into another bar. He knew they would be unconscious for hours. Most likely, people would just think they were passed out drunks and ignore them. This time he would sit alone in the bar, watch for someone to leave and take them by force. He is breaking vampire law already by showing and telling them that vampires are real. If the other vampires found out, they would kill him. That is how strict that law is. He is breaking that one already, why not just take people into alleys by force and change them.
