Lord Evingston
Lord Evingston had just bitten a guy from the bar. He drained him and as he did he screamed. His friend came over and Lord Evingston had to act fast. He grabbed his friend, covered his mouth, and sunk his fangs into his neck and drained him. Both were now unconscious. He slipped a note in each of their pockets telling them where to meet Evingston. Evingston then cut his finger deeply and put his bleeding finger in each of their mouths to turn them from dead men into vampires. He started to walk back to his car when he took a deep breath and then faced the moon. It was full. He had to get them out of there. They would wake up in a feral state and go on a killing spree. That would expose the vampires' existence and cause serious trouble for all of them. It was many, many centuries ago, but when humans found out about their existence, the humans panicked and hunted the vampires to near extinction. That can never happen again. He picked up one of the men and threw him in his back seat. He then went to get the other man, but people had poured out of the bar. He didn't notice it was two a.m., closing time. Too many people were right there. He couldn't risk them seeing him carry an unconscious body of a man to his car. Especially with blood dripping from his throat. So, he drove away.
He drove to the storage unit he recently purchased and locked him in one of the distant, back storage rooms. The storage facility was in an industrial area, so it won't matter if the man awakes and screams and hollers in a rage. No one will hear him. And, he would be there to let him out at sunset. Evingston then drove home and spent the rest of the night going over his plans and researching other businesses that he could purchase to generate more income. Then, when morning came, he packed a couple of bags of blood in a cooler and drove to the storage house.
When he unlocked the padlock and raised the door, the man was covered in sweat. He could tell that the man had a wild night. He handed him the bag of blood and said, "Here is some blood. I figured you'd be famished so I..." The man quickly grabbed the bag and drank as if he had been crawling through the Mojave Desert for days, in the hot sun, dying from agonizing thirst. Once he quenched some of his thirst with one, Evingston handed him the other one and he drank just as voraciously. "The name is Evingston."
"Jerry," he replied.
"Hello Jerry. As you know, you are a..." said Evingston.
"Vampire," Jerry finished. "I figured it out last night when I was a raving beast. It was like I could see what was happening, but was helpless to control my actions. I was just this screaming, writhing, violent creature. Am I going to be like that every night!? Why ever did you do this to me!?" Jerry exclaimed as he dropped the empty bag of blood and grabbed Evingston's shirt and shook him.
"No, no. Only for full moons for the first couple of months. Then, you will gain total control of your faculties. Your decisions will be your own again. In the meantime, you must spend your full moons in here, so you don''t hurt anybody," said Evingston.
"I suppose I can live with that. I noticed I am stronger and so much faster. This will make my work in construction so much easier," said Jerry, trying to look on the bright side of the situation.
"No. You must never go back to your job or your home. If you have family, see them once during the day and tell them that you are leaving, forever. Your new life is in your new coven, with me as your leader. I won't lead you astray and I will help you develop your abilities. You belong with your own kind. You can't risk humans finding out what you are. Whoever you bite, you do it discreetly, drain them, feed them your blood, then bring them here. We need more members. You also will have bagged blood here to eat that I get from the hospital. I do have people who work there that work for me. They make sure we are stocked with plenty of blood," explained Evingston.
"I can't leave my family behind. My work, I can give up, but I have a wife and parents," said Jerry.
"It is never easy for a newly formed vampire. But, you can't risk accidentally brushing up against them and they feel that you are as cold as a corpse. Or, if you get angry or upset, your eyes will flash red or gold, showing that you are not human. Or, God forbid, you change on a full moon and kill them all. You are now a threat to your loved ones. And, no matter what measures you take to hide who you are, you always are a risk. It just takes once and they are gone forever...by your hands," warned Evinston.
"I understand," said a saddened Jerry. He went to his home and packed his bags and said he was leaving her. He explained it was no fault of hers. He just had to go. Still, she cried and cried and begged him not to go. He will never forget the memory of his beautiful wife on her knees begging him not to leave her. But, Evingston was right. It was just too dangerous now. He was too dangerous now. He had to protect her by leaving her forever.
He then went to say goodbye to the parents who raised him since he was a helpless infant. He had to say goodbye to his mom and dad who he loved so much. It was so hard to do, but he knew he had no choice. He had to go. He closed the door behind him as he walked out that door and wept as he walked away from his loving family forever.
