Chapter 5

After having breakfast in Rex's house, alexis decided to go home but
rex insisted on driving her home. Inside the car has been awkward as
rex has his eyes on her all through and she was feeling uncomfortable.
Looking up at him " why don't you keep your eyes focused on the road,
except you're planning to get us killed" she said.
Smiling he took a look at her before putting his eyes back on the road. She
was looking more beautiful than he last saw her with clear hazel eyes that
seem to pierce through him when she looks at him. He loves her, sure about
that, whenever he was close to her, he always has this impact of drawing her
close to him.
He wanted to breathe her scent into him.
He glanced at her again directly looking at her thin lips and unknowingly he
sucked in his lips too.
Just then she turned her head towards his direction and caught him staring
lustfully at her, quickly he cleared his throat and diverted his attention back to
the road.
"What the hell was that look" alexis thought
She knew his kind was just a p*****t and she was careful not to be tangled with him
he was just a stranger to her actually and after today she wasn't going to see him again.
Driving towards the direction she gave him, he looked around the area, it was the outskirts
of the city. "What exactly was she doing here" he thought. Was she that poor! The buildings
look like it was going to collapse anytime soon.
He was jolted out of his thoughts when alexis showed him where to park his car.
"Do you live here" he asked
"Yeah....is something wrong"
"Uhhm no, just asking"
"Thanks for the drive and for helping me out yesterday"
"That wasn't a problem, just don't stay out in the rain next time"
She opened the car door and cane out, and he did the same, walking
towards her.
"Can i have your number"
"What for" she questioned.
She wasn't going to give him her number just because he helped her out
yesterday, for all she knew, this guy was the guy who got her fired from her
working place just because of his rude girlfriend and now he was asking for her
number. What an irony!!!
"Just to get in contact with you"
"I that's the case then I can't give you my number"
Rex was stunned, never in his life has he ever been refused anything especially
from a girl! Girls were always known to be flooding themselves around him just
to get his attention but this little girl who has likely taken over his heart right
from when he set his eyes on her just said no to him. He hasn't even asked her out
yet and she was already refusing him.
He thought of another method to get her number from her.
"Actually I'm really sorry about last time when I got your boss to fire you, I'm really
sorry" he pleaded with a soft voice.
"Fine I've forgiven you but I can't give my number to you"
"Why" he asked
"Nothing, just don't feel like it" she replied
"Okay" sighing deeply he retreated
"Where do you work now" he asked
"I haven't gotten a job yet"
"Uhmm why don't we talk about this sometime, I have to go to work now,
but I think I might have a job for you at my company"
"What ....are you being serious right now" alexis said excitedly
"Yes i am but when you have a free time let's talk about it, I can give you my
number"
"Okay since it's for a job.....I'll give you my number" alexis said
After exchanging phone numbers Alexis asked him what his name was
"The name is Rex" he replied
"Alexis" she said
"Okay give me a call whenever you're free to discuss"
"Yeah i will"
After that she bade him goodbye and watched him drive off before going into her
apartment on the third floor.
Inside she threw herself on the bed tiredly when her phone rang, she jumped up
looking at the screen it was Bryan calling, immediately she clicked o the answer
button.
"Hi" she said
"Finally you answered your call, I've been calling you since yesterday, you weren't
picking"
Remembering she was talking to him when she fainted in the rain. Damn rain!!!
"Uhhh yeah am sorry about that, was low on battery" she lied
"Are you okay" he asked anxiously
"Yeah....yeah am fine"
"Are you busy let's meet up somewhere"
She wasn't ready to go out, all she wanted to do was to sleep.
"Don't think so, am not at home right now" she lied again
"Are you busy" he asked
"Yeah a little bit busy" she replied
"Okay let me not disturb you, take care"
"Yeah you too bye"
"Bye" he said before hanging up the phone.
Alexis threw the phone on the side of the bed and lay down on her pillow
before dozing off to sleep.
Just hearing her voice was reassuring for him, he has been worried all this while
thinking something has happened to her, but now he was sure she was safe, he
sighed before turning the car back to where he came from.

Today has just been busy for rex, he has been sitting down while checking files that
needed his attention, he has kept his phone close to him waiting for Alexis call to
come but there was no call. Did she still hate him?
Just then his PA entered "sir you have a conference meeting with the foreign company
now"
Cutting him off "cancel all my appointments for today john I have something important
to do right now" he said.
Getting off his chair he put on his jacket, patting john on his shoulders before striding out.
when he got to the underground parking lot the driver opened the door for him and he got
in before taking out his phone and calling alexis number. He hasn't been able to stay focused
all through as she has been in his head all through and he hasn't been able to concentrate
on his work today.
Dialing the number it was directed to voicemail, he did it again but it wasn't going through,
he frowned.
