Come on man, you look so glum” Kane said slapping my back, Kane was my Alpha and my best friend, it’s never bothered him he has not got his Mate. He was dedicated to his pack like me but unlike me he is kind and free spirited. Myself I was longing for my mate, I was guarded and felt I was always searching, I feel like it’s been a lifetime waiting for her! whilst I’m only 26 it feels like an eternity. My younger brother was lucky he found his mate at 18 and their love for each other was perfect, and she was beautiful, lucky wolf my brother was!

“Cheer up you never know tonight could be the night!” Kane said.

“Kane! I have been going to these pack parties for years my friend, it’s likely she won’t be in this pack” I grumbled

“maybe she is only just turning 18?” Kane answered.

“Goddess I hope not!” A baby for a mate, what could be worst!

“Well, you are my Beta you're coming” Kane said I’m his commanding Alpha tone.

I grabbed my leather jacket “fine I’ll see you there! at least I can find a hot she-wolf I can bury my loneliness in between her legs,”

Kane just shook his head, and I walked away. Kane and I were best friends just like our dads, My old man was his Dads beta, when Kane took over the pack my dad stayed beside him until Kane found his feet, once Kane did then dad stepped down, and I took over the beta role. Our whole life had prepared to live and breathe the packs needs. Kane never dreamed of a mate he always felt that he required to focus, and he knew that having a mate would distract him and I desired more than just the pack to breathe for.

When I arrived the party was in full swing as they often were. I stalked the perimeter looking over the dancing wolves, not all where dancing some where dry humping newly found Mates “assholes” I swore internally.

my wolf Jace was also jealous for their luck, he longed for our mate as much as I did. I notice the cluster in the centre having a good dance, I started searching for some sexy wolf I can take home tonight. I get closer to the cluster, as I did that’s when it hit me! The feeling I have waited for! The scent of Rain and water lily that unlocks your soul and makes you feel free!

I moved towards the scent as I got closer, Jace was clawing to come out! our mate was near! a moment of relief waved through me, I thought I’d never discover her here, then I saw her dancing with a tall darker wolf they look like they were getting close, my wolf was jealous ‘Mine’ he growled inside me.

My excitement turned to disgust then to rage! when I took in her appearance she was average, but her body was larger than I find attractive, her hair was blonde and her skin fair with freckles covering her and did she have f*****g tattoos?! Her skin has been marked before I could mark her is this a joke! and to put the f*****g cherry on top she was not untouched. “ARE YOU f*****g KIDDING ME!” I roared in fury she spun and looked me square in the eyes. her blue eyes pierced right through me, she was pretty

My wolf was begging to come out to mark her there and then! I was angry at goddess why would she give me a mate that looked like this?! I’m a Beta I needs mate who is strong and can protect herself and I get a chubby drunk lazy she wolf “All those years of waiting!” I bellowed moving my hands up and down gesturing to her body. I looked at the shock and hurt flash in her eye, Jace didn’t enjoy seeing her hurt

Looking at my Mate I watched her face go from pained to stone

“What is your name” I commanded in my beta voice, her stoned expression “I am Darcy Sinnex” she said with authority that caught me off guard

“Well I Beta Riven Jace of the dark moon pack hear by reject you Darcy Sinnex as my Mate”.

I hear laughter and whispers around us realising the scene I just created and the growling. I peer up, and I see green eyes fixed on me, he was growling like he wanted to assassinate me where I stood! I’d like to see him try!

‘your on your own I hope he does f*****g kill us’

‘I’m done’ he is angry.

I stare over at Darcy her face is set, she takes a deep breath “I Darcy Sinnex do not accept your rejection” my wolf rejoice, but Darcy just looked at me smiled coldly, turned and walked away! The dark wolf put his arm around her, and they left the party. I just stood shocked at what just happened! How dare she not accept my rejection? because she probably seeking rank f*****g lazy trying to climb to top of the pack through mate-ship This made me angrier but Jace was not talking to me, Though I can feel the burn of jealousy from the other wolf touching his mate and I didn’t like it much either.

Looking around eyes are all on me some filled with amusement others filled with disgust, then my eyes locked on to Kanes, I know that face and there is going to be words later. I let out a sigh I’m not dealing with him right now and I’m just going to f*****g drink to this shitty situation I’m in what the f**k did I do to piss the moon goddess of so much!
