The Party (Darcy)

I was outside painting, I was in my peaceful state when I hear

“Darcy! My beautiful little Wolf!”

Oh Goddess, what does he want! I saw Lucas walking towards me with this big wide smile showing his perfectly straight and white teeth, cute dimpled cheeks and adorable melting green eyes that compliments of his sexy caramel skin.

“No!” I say

“I haven’t asked you for anything” he said dropping his bottom lip giving me that puppy dog expression.

“dude you have been pulling that face on me since we were 11! I have to tell you it doesn’t work on me anymore” I declare, crossing my arms bracing for the impact of what he is about to ask me. I know whatever he is going to ask me I would answer yes we have this unspoken understanding that we are there for each other no matter what.

“Just for one night, can we please go to the pack party?”

Uh I have been avoiding them since I became 18, most the girls there are pretty much naked and the rest are dry humping their founded mates, it drove my insecurities through the roof!

“please” Lucas broke me from my thoughts “maybe tonight will be the night we find our mates?!” The thought had crossed my mind before but all the higher ranked wolves where there and the most nerve-racking the Beta and Alpha. “Ok look let’s do this but if you become one of those dry humping wolves when you meet your mate were finished you hear!” Lucas face lit up with a big smile picks me up and kisses me on the cheek “awesome this will be fun I just know it!” He runs off leaving me standing there regretting what I have just done!

I rummage through my closet trying to find something to wear

I throw on an burgundy oversize tee with a belt around my waist giving me an hour glass shape.

I curled my hair, threw tan wedges on and did my makeup natural with a glossy lip. I glanced in the mirror and I felt wonderful it was nice change of pace getting a little glam maybe Lucas was on to something. I hear a knock and I went to open the door but of course Lucas let him self in.

Once he walked on me naked putting my underwear, not the best angle to catch me on, but he just laughed sat on the bed and put the blame on me because he told me what time he would be here, and it was my fault because I’m always late. He looked at me surprised “wow your ready on time what a miracle” I punched him in the arm. “smart ass!” I hissed, “let’s just go” I demanded! “Um Darcy?” Lucas stared at me with all humour gone from his face “you look incredible” I blush but in my fine form of brushing off a compliment I said “nice recovery my friend! Now you ready to meet you’re mate?”

Absofuckinglutely” he said.

We arrived and I dug the vibe! the music was loud I could smell BBQs surrounding us, Lucas and I addressed our Alpha out of respect, he was one beautiful man! He had jet black hair, piercing blue eyes and his body look like it was carved by the goddess herself! Wow! I could barely make eye contact, he was a younger Alpha, but he has been Alpha since he was 18 when he took over the pack and was supported by our last Beta who recently stepped down. A new beta took his place, Lucas said that the current beta and the alpha have been friends for as long as we have, yet I’ve never seen the new Beta, and I was surprised he wasn’t flanking the Alpha.

The Alpha was warm and kind and welcomed us though scorned us for our lack of social engagement, “it’s nice to finally see you two! I was thinking you had your own pack” he replied goddess that smile!

Sorry, Alpha Kane we are just homey wolves, but we will try to be more social in the future” Alpha Kane burst into laughter “it’s fine! just you two go have fun!”

“What was that?” Lucas said, getting us a drink of punch that smelt like they put the whole bloody bottle shop in there “I don’t know I just got nervous! I was one step away from curtsying” I said Lucas bellowed in laughter “Little wolf this is why I love you, you crack me! up now let’s dance!”

We get on the dance floor and Lucas and I start dancing we were an hour into the party I felt a little drunk, those punches went down to fast! I knew it was laced with more than I can handle, but I didn’t care for once in my life all my insecurities and self-doubt washed away from me, and I was so overjoyed! I glanced at Lucas and he was too. we raised hands in the air, and we howled in celebration I have never felt so happy, Lucas and I locked eyes we both knew drinking put us both in a dangerous territory but I don’t know why in this moment all rational thought went out the window was it the music, the atmosphere but as his green eyes lock on to mine and his lips moved closer to mine it felt as he was gravity pulling me in. My heart raced as his eyes moved to my lips as I moved towards him our lips softly touching a scent hit me like euphoric ton of bricks! I spun towards the scent of mulled wine with oranges and cinnamon, it felt safe and warm until I was ripped away from that moment with a roar! stood before me was a tall beautiful wolf! Alpha Kane’s beauty was nothing compared to this wolf before me, he was stunning his hair was long and Auburn, his skin was sun-kissed with golden eyes, his bone structure in his face was strong with a rough stubble, he was handsome and furious!

Sinnex was stirring inside

Her emotions were happy and excited. I, however, looking at my mate's face, started to realize that my worst fear was becoming true, that stunning face glaring at me I have seen it before I was my worst case scenario staring me dead in the eyes.

“Are you f*****g kidding me!” He bellowed

“All those years I have been waiting, and I get this?” Oh! My goddess, did he just refer to me as ‘this!’ I can feel Sinnix shock and though I saw this happening I still hoped I was wrong.

“what is your name?!” He demanded, and I felt my self compelled to tell him as if it was the Alpha himself commanding it, I was trying to stop tears from flowing, I can see the whole packs eyes were on me. Sinnex yelped in pain from the hate burning from our mates eyes. I swallowed what felt like a large rock and collected myself and got angry! “I am Darcy Sinnex” I said sternly f**k him! I will not let him See me cry!

“Well I Beta Riven Jace of the dark moon pack, here by reject you Darcy Sinnex as my mate.”

I realised it was coming, but it still felt like a powerful uppercut and hearing a mix of amusement and whispers around me just added to the blow. The only saving grace was I could hear Lucas growling with anger behind me and at that moment I realised a mate wasn’t all I needed, I had Lucas my best friend in the whole wide world had my back always.

I took a deep breath stood my ground taking in all the amusement and the surrounding humiliation. how dare he ruin one of the happiest night I have had in a long time! “I Darcy Sinnix of the Dark Moon pack do not accept your rejection” I gave my mate a smirk turned around and walked away I’m not letting him have the satisfaction of a possibility of a mate he is dreaming of. That fucker is stuck with me now.
