Chapter 25

After minutes of glaring at each other. Eric turned to Marissa.

"Follow me," he said, his voice cold and distant. He didn't even wait for her reply and walk away.

"It will be best you follow your cousin. I don't think Rayan is the problem here, " Melvin said, and Marissa looked at Rayan.

"He's right," Rayan said, and Marissa nodded and went after Eric.

"He's not gonna stop her from being friends with you," Melvin said.

"He better not dare," Rayan glared, and Melvin chuckled and went after Marissa.

Marissa met up with Eric,

"When did you become friends with him?" he asked.

"Well, few weeks ago," she said.

"A few weeks ago, and you didn't tell me," He snapped.

"Why would I? It's not like you care. So stop pretending now, " she yelled back.

"We are living together Marissa, you are my responsibility,"

"Oh wow, I didn't know that, but I don't have to be your responsibility."

"I don't want to see you around him." he looked at her

"And who are you to control me. You're not my parents. "

"I'm serious, Marissa. Don't provoke me. "

"Do your worst because I'm not staying away from him, and you know why, because he's a lot better than you, he's takes good care of me as a big brother, something that you can never do. He doesn't yell at me like you do. So tell me, why should I stay away from him? "

She asked, looking at Eric with serious anger.

"I can see that you have nothing else to say," she said and walked out.

"Ahhhhh," Eric kicked the wall angrily,

Rayan met up with the others.

"Where have you been, " Rose asked.

"I just got through with my class." He said.

"Uhm, do you know that Marissa and Eric are cousins?" he asked, and they gasped.

"Cousins " both Anna and Rose chorus together.

"I was shocked to find out today," he said.

"She once told me about her cousin, but I haven't met him before," Rose said.

"Of all people, why must that jerk be her cousin?" he scoffed.

"I've been trying to contact Titus. It's been days since I last saw him," Rayan said, bringing out his phone.

"You two are close right," Anna asked.

"Yeah, and if he's being this distant, then that means that something is not right," he said.

"Maybe he's spending time with his girlfriend. You know,he always hangs out with her, " Roae said.

"It could be. I will try to contact Sarah later, " he said, and he received a text from Tim that he needed to be at the base.

"I have to go now," he said, getting up.

"You just got here," Rose said.

"Yeah,unm dad just texted me that he wants to see me," he said

"Then let me come with you,"

"You don't have to butterfly, just go home ok" he said, and she nodded.

"Bye, girls," he said and left.

"Why is he in such a hurry?" Anna asked.

"This is what I've been talking about. He's always going somewhere. " Rose frowned.

"Maybe he's busy with something. Don't worry, I'm here to entertain you, " Anna said and hugged her friend.

Eric just got through with his last class. He's been in a bad mood since the morning. He was on his way to the parking lot when he met Melvin talking to the same boy whom he was talking to yesterday. To make things worse, the boy had his hands around Melvin's waist, and Melvin was just smiling.

"What the heck?" he scoffed and walked up to them.

"What the hell is this?" he pushed the boy away,

"Eric, " Melvin holds his hand.

"Don't touch me," he said angrily.

"Why do you let people always touch you on how they want?" he snapped.

"We were just talking. I told you he's my friend, " Melvin said.

"And you, what are you still doing here. Leave, " he said, and the boy ran away.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" Melvin looked at him.

"Stay away from him. I don't think he has any good intentions. He looks like a gay to me. " Eric siad and Melvin frown.

"So what if he's a gay. What's wrong with being a gay? "

"They are disgusting people. How can you be romantic with your same gender? "

"But I don't have a problem, so what's your concern?" Melvin snapped.

"Stay away from him," Eric said, and Melvin scoffed.

"I won't. I'm not a kid that you can boss around. "

"Don't tell me you like him as well,"

"Well, I don't see a problem with that. He's handsome, kind, rich. "

"Stop," Eric snapped.

"Why are you taking this personal. I don't meddle in your personal life, so you don't have the right to meddle in mine. " Melvin glared at him.

"And for your information, I'm gay also, so I think you should start hating me too."

"Melvin, what are you saying?" Eric was out of words.

"I have to go," Melvin said.

"Wait....I don't understand. What do you mean by"

"You heard me right and if you're uncomfortable about it. You can stay away, " Melvin said and walked away.

"Is he...." Eric was out of words....

When Rose arrived home, she was shocked to meet her dad home.

"Dad," she called, and he looked at her.

"My queen," he smiled at her. She walked up to him.

"When did you return back?" she asked, sitting next to him.

"Just a while ago,"

"And you didn't even tell that you were returning today. Wow, dad, you are surely full of surprises nowadays, " she said, and he chuckled. Just then, Zara walked out of the kitchen looking extremely stunning as usual.

"Rose,you are already back." She smiled.

"Yeah, I return not too long," Rose said.

"How was the trip?" she asked, and Zara smiled.

"Awesome right because I can tell from that smile," Rose chuckles.

"I've missed my baby girl so much," Mr Parker said, hugging his daughter.

"Hmmm, I doubt that," Rose muttered.

"You don't believe me. Ask Zara, " Mr Parker said.

"Your father was really missing you and Carrie a lot. He couldn't wait for us to come home, " Zara said, but Rose didn't say anything.

"Alright, let me make it up to you with a family day," he said, and Rose looked at him.

"A family day," she smiled. She remembered when her mom was alive. They would usually have a family day twice in a year.

"Yeah, Zara will do the planning," her father said

"That's nice. Zara, I will help you with the planing, " she said, and Zara nodded, smiling.

"Thanks, dad,you're the best. I love you so so much, " she said, hugging her father excitedly.

"Love you too," her father hugged her back.

Rayan arrived at the base in no time.

"Welcome, boss," Tim said as he led Rayan in the house. The others were practising.

"What news do you have?" Rayan asked as he sat down.

"I have investigated the gunshot scene." Tim said and sat down as well.

"Did you find out the person behind it?" Rayan asked.

"Well, all I know for now,it's that the person is from a syndicate, I've been trying to find out about their leader," Tim explained.

"What about the other person?"

"It's another force from outside. It look like they are enemies. "

"Get me the list of all the top mafia gangs in this city. I want you to send it to me tomorrow evening and make sure to do a proper investigation on them, " He said, and Tim nodded.

"Have you assigned the secret agents I told you to assign to my dad?"

"Yes, sir. They are currently watching over Mr Anderson asked if we speak, "

"What about Dante Anderson? Have you done the research about him?"

"Yes, sir. I have already sent you all the information about him to your email"

"Good job. Get me my gun. I will be practising with you guys today, " He said, and Tim nodded. He signals for one of the men to bring Rayan's gun.

"I'm sure the person that wants to kill me,it's still on the look. We have to set up a plan to lure them in, " Rayan said.

"Won't that be dangerous, I mean, we don't know their strength,"

"I know,that's why I want you to set up a plan," he said

"Got it, sir." Tim noded

"And one more thing. Find me the best beach in this city. Prepare a nice date for me there, I want it to be only for me, "

"But why, boss?" Tim looked at Rayan, confused.

"I'm taking your boss lady out," he smirck and walked out.

"Boss lady," Tim muttered to himself, still confused.
