Chapter 19

Marcus sat in the chair with a cigarette in his hands as usual.

"How far with the plan?" he asked on the phone.

"It's going smoothly. I have everything in tight, " the other person said.

"Good job. Wait for my orders before you can do anything. "

"Got it, boss," the other person said, and Marcus ended the call.

On campus, Eric and Melvin met at their usual spot.

"I don't think this s**t is going anywhere, " Eric scoffed

"You're rushing things." Melvin smiled.

"I have to. I don't want her to fall completely for that guy. "

"I told you it's just a game,"

"To you maybe, but for me, it's more than that,"

Melvin looked at Eric and smiled again.

"I love the kind of anger you got. Don't worry, I have everything according to plan. "

"Then be fast. I'm running out of patience. "

"I'm hungry. Did you bring any food?" Melvin asked, and Eric frowned.

"Only eating you are good at nothing else." Eric groaned, bringing out some snacks.

"How sure are you? I'm very good in bed, wanna try? " Melvin winked.

"Freak ass," Eric stood up to leave.

"I'm coming to your house tonight, be expecting me in your room." Melvin spoke up as he munched on his chips.

"Don't come. You're annoying. "

"You should have gotten used to me by now," Melvin said, but Eric didn't say anything. He just left.

On his way out, he met Anna.

"Hey," she smiled.

"Anna wassup."

"I'm good. You haven't been hanging out with us these days. I can see that you already have a new friend, " she said, and he chuckled.

"Not really, I will try to come around sometimes," he said, and she nodded.

"Uhm, Eric, will you be free this evening?" she asked, trying not to sound awkward.

"Yes, anything."

"Well, I just wanted us to hang out," she said, and he looked at her.

"Alright, you can come over at my place," He said

"Your place "

"Do you have somewhere for us to go?"

"No, your place. Ok, fine. " She laughed.

"Alright then, see you tonight," he said and walked away.

"One step at a time," Anna muttered to herself and smiled.

Rose didn't go to school because Carrie wasn't feeling well.

"Is it now that you know that you have children?" Rose frowns. She was on the phone with her dad.

"I'm sorry, my queen, I've been busy lately,"

Mr Parker apologised.

"Busy, really. With work or with Zara. Look, dad, don't you think that you're rushing things with this lady. Like, I mean, we don't know anything about this woman"

"She told me everything, my dear. She's just a poor lady struggling to survive. She lost both her parents when she was just a child, and her family threw her out. What else do you want to know? "

"Did she tell you this?" Rose asked

"Yeah, she even took me to her parents' grave and the house they used to live in."

"How's Carrie?" he asked.

"She's fine for now,"

"Okay, let's be in touch,"

"I should be the one telling you that." She said, and her father laughed.

"Where's Zara. Hope she is good. "

"Yeah, she is. She just stepped out to go shopping. Since this lady came into my life, my business has blossomed. She's a blessing. "

"See you later, dad, I'm not in the mood for you to lecture me about your love life," she said, smiling.

"See, someone is jealous. Isn't Rayan romantic with you. That kid has a sharp tongue. "

"Dad," Rose face, heat up.

"Alright. We will talk later, take care of yourself and Carrie for me. I love you, "

"I love you too,"

"Alright, see you, bye." Her father said and ended the call. She's a bit happy that she has talked to her father.

"Was it dad?" she turned around and met Carrie. She was already awake.

"Yeah. How are you feeling now? " she asked.

"I'm fine now," Carrie said.

"What did dad say on the phone?" Carrie asked.

"He said that he was busy so he couldn't contact us"

"Ok." Carrie noded.

"It's time to take your medicine. I will back in a sec, " Rose said and went out. Immediately, her phone rang. It was Anna calling.

"Guess what, girl?" Anna screamed excitedly.

"Geez, Anna. Please don't ruin my ears, " Rose said, and her friend laughed.

"What I'm about to tell you will blow your mind,"

"What is it?" Rose asked, eager this time around.

"I asked Eric if we could hang out, and he agreed. I'm meeting him at his place. "

"WTF"

"I'm thinking of what to wear," Anna said

"I'm so happy for you," Rose said, smiling.

"Thank you. So tell me, what should I wear? "

"Something sexy that will blow his mind," Roee said, and Anna laughed.

"Geez girl, you want to turn the poor guy on."

"I want when he sees you. He won't stop staring," Rose said.

"Sure, best friend, see you later," Anna said and ended the call.

Anna got dressed, her dress was stunning, and her make up goes smoothly with her face, making her beautiful in her own way. She was driving when a car almost ran into her. Luckily, she was able to hold the car brake quickly.

Her hair got a bit ruined due to the hash stopping of the car.

"What the hell?" she frown.

She got down from the car and matched towards the other car. The owner also got down as well turned up it was Titus.

"Titus...." her anger sundue immediately.

"I'm sorry, hope you aren't hurt," he asked, his voice plain.

"I'm not. What about you? " she asked, moving closer to him. It looks like he came from a fight.

"I'm fine," he said, and she nodded.

"I have to go now, see you," he said quickly and got in his car.

"Is he alright?" she muttered to herself, getting back in her car.

Rayan stood in the parking lot, awaiting Titus. It's not too long when Titus arrived.

"I thought you weren't coming," Rayan said, but Titus didn't say anything and took out a cigarette.

"Bro, are you ok? You look like someone who is coming from a world fight, " Rayan said.

He knows his friend well, Titus only smokes when he's stressed.

"I'm fine," Titus said, facing the other side.

"You and I know that you're not. So tell me what the f**k is wrong with you" Rayan said but Titus didn't say anything after sometime.

"Sarah and I had a fight " Titus said and Rayan looked at his friend and burst onto laughter.

"What's funny?" Titus frown.

"I thought you two don't fight, so how come." Rayan asked, and Titus hissed.

Not too long, a group of arm men arrived.

Titus was the one that arranged the meeting.

"Are these the men?" Rayan asked as he stared at the men.

"Yes. Boys, this is Rayan, my brother ." Titus said, and the men noded.

"You boys know what you are supposed to do already. We will be in contact with you, " Titus said.

"I brought this as a half payment," Rayan said and took out a bag full of money.

"This is for all of you," he added and threw the bag at them.

They could see the excitement in the men, and it reminded Rayan of his past. He was once like them.

"Thank you so much, boss. You can rely on us for anything, " one of them said.

Rayan and Titus looked at each other and smiled.

Eric just got out of the bathroom and was shocked when he met Melvin in his room and on his bed.

"Wtf" his eyes widen.

"I told you that I will meet you in your room." Melvin smirck.

"How the heck did you enter here?" Eric asked as he moved closer to Melvin, who was still lying down on the bed.

"Easy as f**k. Your securities are all fools, " Melvin said and got up.

"You know it's trespassing right. I can have you arrested, " Eric said.

"I will love see the power of the governor's son,"

Eric just rolled his eyes at what Melvin. He was used to Melvin silly words.

He took out his clothes to wear, he turned around and met Melvin looking at him.

"Your eyes are bowing holes in my body. Can you stop staring? " Eric frowned.

"What's wrong with my stare?" Melvin asked.

"It's gayish," he said, and Melvin burst into laughter.

"What kind of word is that?"

"It's a self-made word, Idoit," Eric said and picked up his clothes to wear.

Melvin was still staring, but he was careless.

"So what are you doing here?" Eric asked, wearing his shirt.

"Can't I visit you. You seem lonely in this house. " Melvin smirck.

"Point of correction, I'm not lonely. I have a sister here with me."

"Where is she?" Melvin asked, but Eric didn't say anything. He himself didn't know where Marissa was, and he didn't care. She's old enough to take care of herself.

"I'm hungry," Melvin said.

"Seriously," Eric scoffed.

"Prepare something nice for me to eat. I'm your guest, " Melvin said, and Eric raised a brow

"Do I look like..." Eric was cut off by a knock on the door.

"You have a guest, sir," the person said.

" A guest..."

"Yes, sir."

"Ok, go, I'm coming." He said, and the person left.

"Stay here and wait for me. Don't come out. " he turned to Melvin.

"Why?"

"Because I said so," Eric said and walked out.

Melvin looked at the door and smiled. Not too long, his phone rang. Immediately, he saw the caller,his smile dropped returning to a cold expressionless look.

"Yes, boss," he said.

"How far with the plan?" Marcus asked

"Still on with it. I'm just waiting for the right time to strike, " Melvin said.

"Alright. Come see me soon, " Marcus said and ended the call.

Melvin looked at the phone, and then he starred at the wall. His eyes cut a picture of Eric.

"Cute," he smirck and walked out of the room....
