Shortcomings (Book 1)

Disclaimer: This work is purely made out of fiction and modified a little from the original. My partner has yet said goodbye to us. He went to go hunt a bear near the forest. After creating weapons, they chose to believe they were ready to hunt it. My children and I decided to stay home and wait until they come back. A few hours passed by, while quietly waiting in hunger, we decided to eat the fruits we collected because the hunt took longer than expected. Hours passed, we finally hear the sound of weak footsteps marching from a distance and screams of worry. In fear, I went out and saw them visually lesser in number. I instinctively hid my kids and tried to find my partner. But I could not find him. Maybe I did not recognize him because he is dirty. Suddenly, a hand touched my shoulder, pushing all its weight to me. "Your partner has passed away." I did not believe him. My mind could not grasp what it just processed and ambitiously tried to find my partner again. I searched and searched until I heard the cry of a newborn child. My heart unknowingly sank to the bottom as I saw its face. My partner is now living his NEXT LIFE.
