"J wake up!" peaking open my eyes slightly as I heard the door bang open; while Tessa began yelling at me I rolled over burying my head into the pillows.

Prying the blanket from my grasp she shoved me from the bed making me land on the floor with a loud thump. "f**k T, why are you in such a rush to get me up? My alarm hasn't even gone off!" I snapped sending her a glare. I hate mornings and she knows that.

"I know J, but we need to get moving. We've got a lot to do today with the mating party happening at 6pm, and everything still needing to be prepared, plus we still have to go into town to get out dresses. Come on go! go! go!" ugh, I had totally forgotten about the stupid mating party.

I shuffled my way into the bathroom turning my shower on I mindlinked Tessa, "remind me again why were doing this mate thing?"

"Well dear seeing as the past two years Ive had to do major damage control with other Alphas because OUR Alpha refuses to attend or send any pack members this year we are definitely attending," I felt her smirk through the link making me think for a moment.

Shrugging I responded, "yea and what'll they do? All the packs in the area fear us, so it's not like they'll attack."

"They may not attack on their own, but what if they were to ban together having a common goal? If they did it would cause a war; while our pack doesnt mind killing or dying for eachother we all know how you feel about losing any pack members," Tessa does have a point. My pack will go to any lengths to protect eachother, but I go the extra step.

Last year a female pack member, Kimberly, was visiting a nearby pack when she was assaulted and r***d. A week later a warrior reported overhearing the other packs Beta bragging to some warriors about what he had done to her. That night I snuck into their territory and sliced his throat, but not before mutilating his body a bit. I grinned reliving that night and reveled in what I had done to him.

Tossing my midnight black hair into a towel and wrapping another around my body I stepped out of the bathroom and continued into my closet on the opposite side of the room. I slipped on an old well worn black Harley tshirt pairing it with some light wash jean shorts and my black sneakers. Tessa whistled as I emerged from the closet trying my hair with the towel. While I brushed it out Tessa began speaking again.

"J can you please hurry up I'm starving and we need to get started setting up the ceremony hall so we can shop," she couldnt hide the sparkle in her baby blue eyes at the last part. If Tessa was allowed to she'd spend every second of life in the mall should would and I'm sure she would never tire of it. Throwing my hair into a messy bun I started out my bedroom door with Tessa hot on my heels.

We entered the dining area just as some of the kitchen omegas were beginning to eat. Most packs treat omegas as trash and scum, but dont see that without the omegas their packs would implode on themselves. Here at BloodRose all pack members are treated equally including omegas, past rogues, and members that joined due to me killing their Alphas.

As we sat with our plates piled high with food Tessa began bothering me about the stupid party tonight forcing me to take actions. Sending a mindlink to our head omega, "Hey Sam are you awake?"

"Yes J, is everything okay?" she sounded worried.

"Oh yea dear everything is fine dont worry your people are doing amazing work, but could I ask a favor?" I never commanded pack members except in times of battle, I respected them all too much for comands

"Of course J I'll do anything for you within my abilities," Sam chirped back.

"Well it has to do with the mating party tonight...." cutting me off she began

"Alpha J I've already sent my best party planners and decorators to the ceremony hall. The decorations arrived late last night and are perfect. I'm sorry if I overstepped, but I do know how you feel about this party so I wanted to make it as easy as possible," I let out a breath I hadn't realised I was holding while I listened to Sam with pride. My pack knew exactly who I was and I loved it.

"Thank you so much Sam that means a lot to me. And I'm sure Tessa will be overjoyed to have more time for shopping." with that I cut the link coming back to Tessa staring at me.

"The party is taken care of, so now you can relax and we can take our time shopping." She squealed as I finished my sentence.

Once we finish our meal I grab my purse and head to the garage hopping into my black dodge charger with tinted bullet proof windows and hidden weapons. Never want to be caught unprepared in an attack. Tessa climbed into the passage seat securing her seatbelts as I put the car into drive.

An hour later I was pulling into a packing spot at the mall. There werent many people here today, but that was fine with me. Large crowds put Katara, my wolf, on edge causing me to be on edge more than usual.

Withing a couple hours Tessa had found the perfect dresses for her and I to wear tonight. "Want to grab something from the food court or eat at the pack house?" she looked at me with her puppy dog eyes.

"What do you want to eat?" I raised my eyebrow, she was up to something.

"Well since you asked... I would really love some of your chicken pesto..." Tessa smiled up at me.

"You know, a Beta shouldn't look at their Alpha with those puppy dog eyes," shrugging I walked away from her as she protested.

"Yea, but right now I'm your little sister not your Alpha plus I just found you the PERFECT dress for tonight," she continued to beg as we threw our bag in the trunk getting into the car.

I gave in as we left the mall parking lot, "fine, but you're going to help me cook this time."

As we finished eating lunch I noticed we still had four hours until the mating party. "Hey T, can we train a bit before we have to do this party? It might put me more at ease.."

She frowned at me while mulling it over, "yea we can probably train for a couple hours before we get ready, but I'm setting an alarm. Were not going to miss this party again." Leaving the pack house we proceeded to an open field that we use for training pack members.

Circling eachother we both dropped into defensive positions with our fists up ready to fight. "okay T remember to keep your wolf in check. I dont need to get bit again like last time. I know it can be difficult, but since you and your wolf, Jackie, only met last month you need to learn to control her in a sparing fight..."

She lunged forward thinking I was distracted. Jumping to the right I dodge a fist while bringing my left leg up to connect with her ribs resulting in a satisfying c***k. After exchanging a few hits pack members begin to surround us watching the sparing match and taking bets on whos going to win.

Tessa glanced to the side as her phone began to blast Novacain by Fall Out Boy signaling it was time to end our training. Circling behind her without making a sound I wrapped my arm around her throat planning to choke her out; but her wolf panicked when it knew she was trapped. Jackie elongated Tessa canines allowing her to clamp down on my arm causing me to scream out and punch her.

"Jackie give Tessa back control now!" this was one of the few times I've had to use an Alpha command on pack members. She immediately released as her eyes began to turn from black back to the soft blue of Tessas with tears pooling in them as she examined my arm.

"Oh my god J I'm so sorry. I dont know what happened I had control over Jackie I promise..." I cut her rambling off as Tessas voice cracked holding back tears. "T dont worry this will be healed by morning I'm just going to the doc to get some antibiotics. Jackie took over while you were distracted by your alarm and I had you trapped. You did exactly what you were supposed to dear, just wasn't expecting me to choke you." I finished as we entered the pack hospital.

"Hello Alpha J what brings you in today?" James, our pack doctor, inquired while glancing over T and I.

"Well James, Jackie got me again. It's not deep by any means.." cutting me off he continued.

"Oh so you just need some antibiotics for the bite?" grabbing a needle he turned and injected me in the left shoulder.

"Thank you James," Tessa mumbled for me without taking her eyes from the floor. We left the hospital and headed back to the pack house to get dressed for the party.

Exiting the pack house I noticed a long limousine parked in front. Tessa must had ordered it. I climbed in while rolling my eyes at her. "Why must you go all out?"

"Well sister as the host of this party you need to arrive in style plus if our mates happen to be there I'm sure they wouldnt like seeing us arrive on feet," she responded shrugging as if it was common sense.

"Yea well if my mate is there he can go get lost. I'd rather lead alone than give my pack to anybody else," I spat back.

"Dont worry J, we all know the pack wont accept anybody else as their Alpha so long as you're alive," turning her solem eyes to me she continued with an evil grin slowly spreading across her lips, "and when you do die I will be the one to take over. I WILL challange and defeat ANY Alpha that tries to take your title."

I felt the pride in her words through our sister bond as she spoke. My sister and pack do truly love me unlike anybody else could. Grabbing her hand as we pulled up in front of the ceremony hall I thanked her for her undying devotion to me and our pack just as the driver opened out door.

"Mate. Mate is here." Katara began prancing in my head.

"Where? can he see us?" I needed to get out of here before he noticed me.

"I think he's inside already, but would it be such a bad idea to meet him at least? You know that a mate will give us extra strength and in turn strengthen the pack."

"Yea and you know that a mate is also a weakness. Most wolves go crazy if their mates die and I've heard some Alphas die when they lose a mate." I frowned remember how my father couldnt protect mother during the rogue attack taking both their lives while leaving the Alpha title to me.

"A mate can be a weakness dear, but it doesnt have to be. I dont believe the godess would give us a weak mate. You and I are both extraordinary beings... how about we just meet him. If necessary we can always reject him, it will only hurt a small bit if we do it early on." Katara tried to reason with me giving me a moment to think it over.

"J come on let's go inside," Tessa reached back as she left the car grabbing my hand I rolled my eyes while stepping out. Taking a deep calming breath and plastering a fake smile onto my face, we proceeded inside.
