The Elder seem to be angry at Oya for failing the test of confidence, "Your mother was a great woman Oya, even though the wind as taken her away, she still watch over you, embrace her bravery and courage and every personality have been telling you about, not for now, but for the enclosed future".
Oya rose up, Elder looked at her with pity and joy in his eyes, she looks like her mother, tall energetic and those beautiful brown eyes will make for a strong claim of beauty, her ebony skin shines so much, but to the Elder, she still lacks the confidence to stake her claim at when due.
'Dissapointed'', the silent voice said, Oya walked into her hut feeling like she needs to just be left alone for eternity, The Elder as been her guidance since she was a little baby, they both have been living away from the society for a long time, staying alone in the bush, but the elder get visited by people from around every single day, she wondered what her mother will look like. "Sleep and don't over dwell in your failure, you have a long journey tomorrow", the Elder voice brought her out of her wonderings, tomorrow is another day she thought.
'Fall and Rise, Silence and Wonder, the body consumes your thoughts, you get limited to the things which limit greatness, snap out of it and Wake up'.
Oya could not differentiate between the dream and the Elder's voice, the elder was definitely not the one speaking, but the elder said wake up and the dream too ended with wake up 'wonder who it was', the silent Voice said. The Elder brought with him a bag, his walking stick almost made him trip when he was about sitting, "Dont you say I don't need the stick", "you don't need it", Oya said through her teeth. Oya placed the bag into her sac, she watched as the Elder stood up, "Be careful and confident, you are leaving for two weeks be back safely, my spirit goes with you, don't fall into the hands of the Onheils", She could not say if he was praying or admonishing her not to get taken.
The sands can be very frustrating especially when rain decided to go on a very long strike, her horse wobbles through the very daunting sand, Oya drank another water from her water jar. She caught the site of a very frail figure about not too far ahead, she hurried her horse to catch up with the figure. The figure seems to be struggling. she got near and saw sees she's a girl, she seems to be struggling with her legs, her lips looks so dry and dead. Oya came close enough to her, on seeing her, she knew she hasn't had water or food for days, she wobbles as if life as become useless to her, her legs bruised and marks of pain fill her whole body, Oya got to her accessing her before making any contact, "Death", she murmured and stumbles into the sand. Oya not wanting to leave a girl that seems to be the same age as her decided to help. The water touching her face brought her back from her faint, she could not speak loud, Oya place in her hand a watermelon. She noticed crossed mark beside her ear, Elder told her about the different signs people give to themselves to identify themselves from other places. 'am from Nui', she said in-between a mouthful of watermelon when she noticed Oya glancing through her ear. Oya could see she was looking dejected and very pained, 'are you alright', she look straight into her eyes, seeing terror and fear, 'death as not been kind to me, it sword always pierced through those around me, but not me, am left alone by the ones I love, wrath took them away, I was hoping to die today until you came along'. Oya curious and feeling pity decided to help her get her out of the sand and get to a place they can pass the night and hear her story.
The inn owner recognized Oya, his stunted growth doesn't stop his mouth from running around with frustrating talks, Oya already braced herself for the never ending talk. ' I knew a damsel was coming when I woke up today, I knew it was you', he continued is Mouth running as Oya often call him. 'Get us some food Faro' Oya said as she slammed the door almost hitting his face ' I will take that', he Said as he left the two young ladies.
After eating, She told Oya her name 'Te Ora', Oya cordially did same. ' What do you mean, wrath took your people away?', Oya curious to know as she lay on her bed. Te Ora looked down to the floor hiding her sorry face. 'two years ago my people caught the site of a very fearsome man, Mamnon'. Oya looking surprised stood up abruptly, she echoed the name again, ' the story is he was placed in the deepest of earth by the gods never to come out again' she exclaimed. Te Ora knew how surprise Oya would be and how hard bilieving her would also be. 'So we thought too, until that faithful afternoon, everyone was going about their work, then this heart stopping cry came out of the Forest on the southern gate. Fires engulfed the great Forest, soldiers ran Into the forest, but non was out after three hours, five hours later, the fire subsided, out came a figure that brought with it Fear and terror, air ceased and souls became ice, fear crippled the legs of everyone, my heart was full of sweat and, faces became pale, no one could ever have thought of him, Mamnon, the prophecied destroyer'.
Oya laid back on her bed, a lot of thoughts surge through her mind, all the stories she heard about Mamnon were not so pleasant to the ear, a tyrant forged from the pit of hades, pity and care are not in his visions, he was to be the end of humanity, but he went rogue, his desire to rule made him crazy, killing anyone that stood against him, wiping out kingdoms, the gods grew tired of his ways and drove him into the deepest darkness never to see light. 'How did he get out of the loop' the silent voice said to her.
' when it becomes too good it becomes evil, when it becomes evil is it still good?, Build up what is virtuous, be responsible and get up'.
The dream is becoming more and more of a lesson class now, Oya noted, she stood up trying as much as possible to wake up with some of energy, Te Ora was not on her bed, Oya wonder where she could be so early, her curiosity was cut short as Te Ora stepped in. ' I don't want to be burden to you Oya, thank you for saving my life', Oya looked confusingly at her, ' what are you saying?, You can come with me to my land, I just have to help my grandpa with something very important in Dhagax'. Oya insisted Te Ora and her become friends since she doesn't have friends herself. Te Ora decided to follow Oya through her journey since she doesn't have any other place to go.
Fortified by the highest of walls, sand and dirt embedded into clay and cemented together holds the fortified walls, named Unreachable. Dhagax is the sit of the Eminence, king Kaulu who rules over the two other kingdoms Moed and Ogbon. Elder sent Oya to relay a message to The King.
'Am sure you didn't open this' the king said as his robust and beard full face becomes pale, the look of worry engulfed his expressions. 'what is wrong', the silent voice said, Oya looking as surprised was now worried of what is in the bag. She stood in the the kings court looking on as the king paces around, he called in a guard and told him to call in the Chiefs as he dissmissed Oya, 'Go now and tell Elder to prepare, he is needed here soon'. Oya wondered what problem it is, that will make the king ask for the Elder to come, 'Mamnon' the silent mind told her, but it can't be him, no one as heard of him yet. 'I am here my king', the familiar bassy voice echoed through the court, 'Baba?'. Oya looking unto the Elder in surprise. ' wait outside, and who is The girl beside your horse?' he asked, Oya told him her name as she walked out wondering how big a case this is that the Elder will come as far as Dhagax.
'Am guessing you called in the Chiefs' he asked, with the king nodding. The tall king told his guards to wait outside, he knelt before the Elder and kissed his hands ' Baba' he said as Elder lifted him up, the Elder admonish him to stop kneeling to him,but the king always insist. ' Baba, this news is so shocking to me, the devil as rose up from his flames, how do I go about this' the king said, ' The world as never been peaceful, our spirit and body constantly going throughout rigorous test the more we grow, it been seventy years since the Destroyer was conquered or at least repressed, your father never experienced his wrath, your grandfather did, I was 12 when he was conquered, now I have to experience his wrath again, Death as been evading me and nature as built me into something else, I don't know if it is a curse or a blessing' Elder said as he looked out the window at the market place feeling very displeased in himself. The king looked at the old man with pity and regret, he felt he hadn't done more for him.
'we have news, and the strangest and dangerous of it', the Chiefs gathered in together in the court, with part of their shoulder showing as the other covered with Red robe that goes to their feet. 'The eight of you are called together because, the mountains are now afraid of heights. Mamnon is causing havoc', the king broke the news looking at the surprised and fearful expressions on the faces of his Chiefs, loud mumurs filled the court, Lagunle, the chief of the Beri spoke up, a retired Eda, who is reverenced as a legend amongst the people, ' I do not understand all of this King, This is tragic and very bad for our society, Mamnon is an immortal being even the gods could not kill, an experiment gone wrong is he, we have to seek the gods, they need to finish what they started, it for our society and our children' he concluded. 'But where are they?'. Elder spoke from behind the chiefs, ha as always wanted to stay away from the king's face so the king can make his own decisions without looking at his face. 'They have gone for a long time never heard of or passed any messages, they decided to create us and create with us an end, an end that hunted them and could not be stopped, Rain as not come down on Fari for years now, it as become a dessert and they have neglected that, they chained away their fault now it has broken loose, it would be easier if he wipe all of us out, but he chose to rule, which means terror and suffering on those alive, solution is key, but how do we as mortal men stop the god of wrath?'.
