Diva's knuckles were white as she gripped the steering wheel. The memory of Axel's mansion still burned. “River, that viper slithered in and stole my role; as if that wasn't enough,, she stole Axel. How did she even manage it?” Diva's jaw clenched.
"Just because of that... that b***h," she muttered, the words barely audible. Axel, who dared to break up with her? Unthinkable. Now, he was parading around, kissing River as if she were the only woman on earth.
A manic smile stretched across Diva's face. "River doesn't know what's coming. No one takes what's mine."
The electronic gate loomed ahead. Diva pressed on the horn furiously.
The gate grudgingly slid open, and she surged forward.
She killed the engine; in the silence, only the pounding of her heart could be heard.
She stepped out of her car, slammed the door shut and strode towards the mansion, the heels of her clicking shoes made a staccato rhythm against the paved driveway.
The maids, with blank faces, offered shallow bows as Diva walked past. She barely registered them. The last thing she needed was pleasantries.
Reaching the sitting room, she found Lady Gina, a woman in her early 50s, perfectly sitting on a plush velvet couch with a crystal glass of expensive wine shimmering in her hand.
The sight of her mother sent a fresh wave of irritation through Diva.
Diva's fingers curled into fists.
“The last person I want to see.” She muttered
She was about to bypass her mother. Lady Gina was dressed in emerald silk and had a vintage Merlot in her hand; the deep crimson swirled gently as she took a sip, her lips curving into a subtle smile as she saw Diva.
Her fingers, adorned with nails painted a deep burgundy, tapped lightly against the armrest. The nails, perfectly shaped and manicured, gleamed like polished rubies. A soft rose blush highlighted her cheekbones, adding a touch of warmth to her flawless complexion.
"Diva, darling! Back already? How was your day?"
The forced cheer in her mother's voice grated on Diva's nerves.
She stopped, turning to face Lady Gina
"Well, if you really want to know? I'm not exactly thrilled to see you, Mum!”
Lady Gina’s smile disappeared, and eyes narrowed, a flash of something that might have been hurt, or perhaps annoyance before she quickly regained her composure.
"Of course, darling. But I am still your mother."
“And at least you acknowledged that fact by calling me mom!”
Diva rolled her eyes
"And?" Diva asked, crossing her arms. “Why are you back now?”
Lady Gina took a slow sip of her wine, the clinking of the glass echoed in the sudden silence.
"C’mon sweetie, Did you have a rough day at... school?"
She emphasized the word "school" as if it were a foreign concept.
Diva scoffed.
"School? Is that what you think this is about? You think I'm upset over school?"
She took a step closer, her voice dropping to a low, dangerous tone.
"Do you even know what's going on in my life? Or are you too busy with your... social engagements to care?"
Lady Gina set her glass down with a soft thud, her gaze hardening. "Don't you dare speak to me like that, Diva? I will provide it for you. I give you everything you could possibly want."
"No, you don't! Dad gives me everything I want, the moment I needed you you ran off some old bastard guy"
Diva shot back, her voice rising.
"A mother who actually cares, a life that isn't a complete sham." She took a deep breath, trying to regain control.
"Can you just leave me alone?" she pleaded, the frustration finally breaking through.
Lady Gina's expression softened, weariness replacing the anger. "Come on, sweetie, don't be like that. Whatever it is, we can talk about it." She gestured to the couch. "Come sit down. Tell me what's wrong."
Diva shook her head. The thought of confiding in her mother, of sharing her pain. “Nah!”
"I can't," she whispered, turning away. "I just... want to be alone." With a frustrated stomp of her foot, she turned and stormed towards the grand staircase, with the sound of her footsteps echoing through the silent mansion.
**Later**
Diva had already changed to a crop top and a booty short.
She walked towards the kitchen while the maids scrambled. Just as she stepped into the kitchen, the maid, in fear, dropped a porcelain cup on the floor, chattering it into pieces.
"Clumsy fool!" Diva snapped. The young maid, with a pale face, scrambled to pick up the shattered pieces of a delicate porcelain cup.
"Get out of my sight before I decide to make you clean the stables with your bare hands!"
The maid, tears welling in her eyes, scurried away. Diva returned to scrolling through her phone.
Just then, a chime announced the arrival of her friends.
And she rolled her eyes and walked out of the kitchen.
Christie and Agatha, her two most devoted friends, entered the room. "Diva, darling! We're here!" Christie chirped, her voice a little too high-pitched.
“I saw lady Gina downstairs, you didn't tell me your mom is back. She is so stunning.” Agatha said
Diva ignored Agatha
"Finally," she muttered, tossing her phone onto a nearby table. "Come in, come in. Though I'm not sure why you'd want to be in the presence of such a disaster." She gestured vaguely around the room.
"What's wrong, Diva?" Agatha asked, with concern.
"You look stunning, as always!"
"Stunning? Do you even know what happened?" Diva demanded, her voice rising. "Axel... Axel kissed that... that w***e! River! Can you believe it? After everything we had!"
Christie and Agatha exchanged wide-eyed glances. "Oh my god," Christie whispered, her hand flying to her mouth. "He actually... kissed her?"
"Kiss her!" Diva spat, her face contorted with rage. "He was all over her! Right in front of me! How dare he humiliate me like that?"
Agatha, ever the eager flatterer, piped up
"Well, of course, he did! But You're a million times more beautiful than that... that thing! The river is just... Well, she's just not you, Diva. You're the whole package."
Diva's lips curled into a sneer. "You think so?"
"Of course!" Agatha affirmed enthusiastically. "Maybe Axel is just using her, you know? Playing the field. He's always been a bit of a player."
“But what's so special about that fat pig?” Christie asked.
“Actually, she isn't fat anymore, Christie!” Agatha said
“She's still an ugly, fat b***h to me!” Diva snapped.
"Well, maybe... maybe it was just for show? You know, part of the acting?"
Christie said.
Diva turned on Christie. "Are you stupid? There was nothing 'acting' about it! He was all over her! And you think that was just acting? Are you that dense?"
Christie and Agatha flinched by Diva's's frightening outburst.
Diva paced back and forth, her anger building. "He'll regret this," she hissed, her voice dangerously low.
"I will make him regret this! And River... well, she'll be the one who's truly broken when he's done with her.”
