Longinus was still holding on to Rory’s arm after they were well out of sight of Brothel Junction.
“You can let go of me now,” she said, laughing. “I’ll make sure nobody attacks you again.”
“Will you stop laughing at me!”
Rory laughed harder.
Longinus stormed off ahead, throwing his hands up in the air.
“Alright, I’m sorry,” said Rory, struggling to keep from laughing as she followed. “Did you see how few men were about tonight? No wonder you were so popular.”
“In case you’ve already forgotten, I was too busy defending myself to pay attention to the people around me.”
