Selena smirked at me as she reached up knocked on the large wooden door, then took a step back.
My heart began to race, and acid filled the back of my throat.
Oh s**t, oh s**t, oh s**t.
I swallowed hard. I never got in trouble.
Never.
This would be a true first for me.
The door opened and the Dean, in a pair of old flannel pajamas opened the door.
He frowned, blinking in the light of the corridor.
“Selena... Megara, what is the meaning of this?”
“I found her running down the halls a few minutes ago. Coming back from the North Quad area,” Selena said proudly, a smile stretching across her face.
The Dean looked at me with a sour expression. He was obviously not impressed to be awoken in the middle of the night.
“Megara, is this true?”
“Ye...es.”
