On the day of the art exhibition, Ida sat in the back of the blacked-out SUV checking the mirror one last time before she was satisfied with her disguise. With a deep sigh, she braced herself, got out of the car, and snuck into the gallery from the backdoor. It wasn’t a hard set rule that artists had to show up for their exhibition, but this venue was furnished with a floor-to-ceiling one-way glass wall so it offered Ida a rare chance to watch others admire and critique her artwork without having to interact with them.
