Chapter 2: First Day

1945 Words
The next morning I woke up to my alarm clock going off. I groan and turn it off. It takes about ten seconds for me to remember what today is: My first day at school. I quickly get out of the bed and head for the shower. After taking a hot shower I got out and blow dry my hair, braid them and make a bun at the back of head since my is to my waist. I go to the closet and put on a black dress that reaches my knee that hugs the upper section of my body and is loose from below my belly. After putting on a pair of matching shoes I go to my bathroom and put on some lipstick. I normally would have people do my make up for going out but today I have to do a light make up.  As just put a dark brown hair wig on there was a knock on my door. I froze mid-way, and said "come in." As the door opened Ethan walked in. I turned around to look at him. I was kind of mad at him from last night. He was supposed to be on my side, he knew that going to a normal school has always been my dream, but instead of defending me he stayed quiet and didn't say anything. "What?" I said, while glaring at him. "Liam couldn't change my mind now it's your turn to try to talk me out of going? not going to happen." I turned around and took a final look at myself and went to take my backpack and was about to leave but Ethan was blocking my way. "What?" I said still glaring at him. "Come on don't be like this." He said. I just continued to glare at him. He sighed. "I'm sorry." I rose my eyebrows at him in a questioning way. " I'm sorry I didn't say anything last night in your defense, but dad was on your side and-" "And you agreed with the rest of the boys." I stated. He shrugged. "I have to go. Now move" I ordered when he didn't move after a few seconds. I glared at him while he looked at me calmly and after a few seconds he moved away to let me go. "Oh! By the way I am coming with you." He stated.  "What?" I asked "And how old are you going to say you are?" He was three years older than me and was majoring in business in one of the universities. He was like me but dad told him he can't go to high school but can attend one of the universities.  "I am coming with you until you get to the school," He said with a stupid grin on his face at my reaction. "Oh." was all I said. When I got to the car waiting for me, all the boys were there with dad waiting for me. "I'm going to school not to travel for a month." I said while smiling at them.  "Funny. We just came to see our little sister go and wish you luck." Liam said. "You do look different." Mason stated while c*****g his head to the side. After a dew more seconds of observation he said "I wouldn't say you look unrecognizable, but you don't look like Soph." "And you definitely look beautiful." dad added. I blushed and hugged all the boys and said good bye. "Are you coming or not." Ethan asked from the driver side of the car. "Ok, ok," I answered, with and eye roll. "Gosh," with one final look at my brother and I got in the car and drove away. I was in the back sit staring outside. I was nervous about what can happen today. I have a bad habit of bouncing my legs or drumming my fingers on somewhere when I was nervous and no one was paying any attention to me. "Aurora" I heard my name being called. I turned and saw dad looking at me from the passenger sit. "Calm down honey. It's going to be fine." He said with a reassuring smile. I smiled back and nodded my head then went back to stare out of the window. I was still in my on world when I felt the car stopped. I looked out and saw that we were at the entrance of the school. Both Ethan and dad turned to look at me. I took  deep breath and smiled at them. "I'll see you later." I said. I was about to get out when dad called my name. "Yes?" I asked.  "Your guard. And BE CAREFUL, understood?" he said mentioning to the car behind us with his head.  "Yes." I said and got out of the car and closed the door with a final wave at my father and Ethan. I looked behind me and saw that a boy, about my age with dark brown hair that was cut short come out of the car. When he was all the way out of the car I could see his body was well built for a 17 year old boy and every one that passed him looked at him with fright or admire. I sighed and went up the five steps of the school entrance and into the principle's office. The principle was the only one who knew my true identity and I was hopping to keep it that way. "Ah!" The Principle said when I entered his office and stood up. "Princ-" "Just Aurora." I cut him and looked at the door to make sure no one heard him call me Princess. "Please." "Yes. My apologizes. " he said "I'm Mr. Brown, Principle of Aveline High School. Why don't you take a sit and we can discuss your stay in here." He mentioned to the chair opposite from a desk that had the label "Mr. Thomas Brown" printed with dark letters on it. I sat down at the chair and Mr. Brown took the sit on the other side of his desk. I noticed that he was avoiding eye contact and rubbing the back of his neck. I couldn't help but giggle at this. He was nervous. He was looking everywhere, at his mahogany desk to the shelves that were filled with trophies and books and photos to the cream walls that had his degrees on them.    At the sound of my giggle his eyes darted to me then he looked away instantly.  "Mr. Brown," I said. "calm down. I'm just one of your students who are here, not a Princess." "Right," He said with a nervous chuckle. "Um... your father said that this is the first time you are in a public school?" I nodded my head. "Here's the bell schedule and …." He went through what they did and what the rules were and the other stuff that was necessary to know about the school. I said goodbye to Mr. Brown as I exited his office.  I couldn't believe it, I was going to school. I looked around the office and saw the receptionist who was looking at me. I was about to go out of the office when the receptionist called me. "Miss Walker?"  "Yes?" I turned toward her and answered. "The finale bell just rang you need a pass to go to your class." She said. "Oh." was all I said before hiding my face that, without a doubt was crimson, with my face and making my way toward her desk.  "Your name?" She asked. "Aurora Walker." I answered. She looked at me with her eyebrows furrowed. She was wearing her black hair in a slick ponytail, and with her defined nose and full lips she looked beautiful.  "You look familiar? You look like.... The princess?" She said. "Yes, I have heard that, but trust me I am not the princess." I answered her next question.  With her eyebrows still furrowed in confusion, she went back to writing me a pass. I got the pass from her a we t to find my first class.  From what Mr. Brown had said the one hundred hallway that my first class, that was French was not that far from the front office. As I was looking around the hallway was excited, I don't know what I was expecting but the school looked different than the one I imagined it to be. Looking from the outside you couldn't tell much about how it might look like inside the school. But the school was old, with the left and right walls upper part being filled with photos of students at their graduation and the school stuff from previous years.  When I walked into the one hundred hallway the walls changed from a cream color to lockers that were blue. There was a lot of lockers I couldn't even count them.  I finally found my classroom. Before I could go I inside I took a deep breath. I didn't know why but I was suddenly nervous. What if they find out who I am? What if I say something wrong? What if... Stop I told myself, you are just overthinking like you always do. It's going to be fine.  With that in mind I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open to for me. When the door opened I looked up and saw a girls a little too mu h make up and straight black hair was glaring down at me since she was a head taller than I was.  She moved away and made way towards the teacher to give her the pass. She took the pass from me and looked down at my name. The tea her was a small old lady, probably in her late fifties or maybe early seventies. She had shoulder length brown hair that was going white due to her age and wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. "Have a sit miss Aurora." She said. I nodded my head in response and looked behind me at the students who were talking to each other. The seats were in five rows and almost half the seats were empty. I took a seat that was in the front row next to a girl who was busy with her phone and her dirty blonde hair was covering her face.  "okay everyone calm down and put your phones away." The teacher said. Everyone stopped talking and looked at the teacher. "I am Mrs. Fae your French teacher and this is French IV AP." She continued.  "Would you mind passing out these." She said to one of the students that was sitting in the front. She took the paper and started to pass them out. "Thank you." The teacher, Mrs. Fae said. "this is the syllabus that is being passes out to you. Go over it and of you have any questions ask me next class. Now let's start by introducing ourselves. You, lets start with you." She pointed at the girl next to me who was now looking at the teacher. I could see her glasses and her fair skin and defined nose.  "Hi. My name is Kathrine but everyone calls me Kat." She introduced herself. Next up was me. I "Hi. I'm Aurora Walker." I said. We went like this until the whole class was finished and Mrs. Fae started to go over what is expected from us and what this class is.  After first period I went to my second period which was calculus. We did the same thing in that class too, and every other class until it was lunch time.
