I Love You (Complete)

10. Final

“Kai…” she was speechless again, it’s been 12 years if he’s loved her since then. 12 whole years and she didn’t know, how could she not know? Did he give her any signs? She feels bad now but... he doesn't know about her feelings as well, right?

“Jongin-ah I…” she was too mesmerized by his eyes as if she was under a spell.

“Tell me please...” he pleads as he was ready for her to reject him, if it comes down to that.

“I love you too,” she says softly not sure how else to say it.

“I don’t want you to love me as a friend, I don’t want to be friend-zoned by you anymore” he pathetically states as he closes his eyes to calm himself down, head hanging down; he took deep breaths and let them out slowly.

She bit her bottom lip nervously as she didn’t know how to make him believe her words. She truly loves him but he thinks of it as being friend-zoned. She took a deep breath as she grabs the chance to kiss him since he has his eyes closed.

Their lips meet again for the second time that night and Kai’s eyes shoot open when he feels her cold ones on his. She had her eyes closed and is kissing him. She had to tiptoe a bit as he's taller so Kai leans down so that she could stand properly then he held onto her waist.

“Believe me, I love you too,” she says as she pants. Her cheeks were as red as a tomato and she seriously wanted to hide her face.

“I want to believe you, but your actions and words sometimes don’t match. I don’t know which to believe” Hyerin saw the sad look in his eyes and mentally slaps herself in the face because she never showed or gave him any hints, not that he did as well.

“Have I ever really looked at other guys? Have I ever trust any other guys? Do I go anywhere with other guys easily other than you?” Kai thought and true enough, she doesn’t, even sometimes with Sehun she would hesitate and decline.

“I didn’t know when my feeling for you started, but I know that whenever you’re not around, I can’t stay still. When you’re with other girls, walking, laughing or just simply conversing I never liked it. But I never said or show anything because I’m afraid you’d see my feelings for you” this time it was Hyerin who’s confessing as she tells him with their eyes not meeting.

“Why won’t you look at me in the eyes and tell me?” he believes her, but he’s frustrated that she’s not looking at him in the eyes while telling him.

He wants to just jump up and down in joy right at the moment for her confession. But he restrains himself for doing so as he wants an explanation.

“I don’t think I can think straight when I look directly in your eyes. You make me lost just by staring at them. You have beautiful eyes, Kai. I love to look at them, but I’m afraid I’ll lose myself if I stare too long” she tells as Kai made sure she would look at his eye directly this time, the pink shade never leaving her.

“I get lost in yours too,” he says and he leans in for another kiss. That night, they slept in each others arms and she gave Kai the one thing she knew was his from the start. That night, both of them became whole and complete as both of them were in full bliss as their friendship blooms into a beautiful love.

”Good morning beautiful,” he said as Hyerin’s eyes flutter open the next morning.

“How long have you’ve been up?” she smiles at him as he leans in for a good morning kiss. She giggles as Kai playfully leave kisses all over her face.

“A while, I love staring at your sleep. You look so beautiful” he tells her as he pulls her closer and she snuggles closer to his bare chest.

“That doesn't sound like a first…” she looks at him with curious eyes.

“You know it, 12 years is a long period, I would stare whenever I have the chance to for the past years,” he winks as he smiles sweetly at her. Hyerin blushes almost immediately at his words as she too sometimes does that.

“Tell me if you’ve done that before” he pushes a strain of hair behind her ear as her hair was out of place from just waking up but she’s still the most beautiful woman that his eyes have ever set on. She blushes even harder as he asks the question.

“Hmmm, I like it when you sleep. You look so peaceful and I love it when you crunch your nose, you look cute” she confesses and the red color can’t seem to fade away when Kai leans in closer.

“Be mine?” he finally asks the question that she’s been waiting from last night.

“I thought you’d never ask? I think we passed that since we uh... well” she replies with the red color permanent on her face, gesturing to their activity last night.

Kai’s bedroom was always neat and tidy but because of last night, his room became messy with the fallen things, thrown down pillows and scattered clothes. 

“I wanted to make sure you love me back, but I guess I was too happy and since you had slept meaning you’ve recharged, I thought why not” he smirks and she laughs at his remark.

“I’d love to be your girlfriend” she laces her hands around his neck and pulls him down for a kiss, it lasted for a while as his hands plays with her bare skin and she arched herself closer to his.

“Not my girlfriend” he pulls away when they broke the kiss and turns around towards his side table. Hyerin looks at him confusedly as she couldn’t get what he means by ‘not my girlfriend’…

“Be mine?” Kai repeats his question but this time, with an addition of a red velvet box.

Hyerin gasp as she recognizes it, it was the rose gold princess cut ring with a small diamond which she adored and had told Kai how she’d do anything to have it.

“Be your wife?” she asks, just to make sure that she won’t get the wrong idea, Kai smiles at her word and nods.

"We've been friends for far too long and I think we can skip the whole dating thing... don't you agree?"

“Kai…” she was speechless, confessions last night and right now he’s proposing to her. Could life get better than this?

“Would you like to be the one and only?” he still waits patiently for her exact answer.

“I’d love too” she finally tells him as she jumps onto him. Without much thought, she kisses him and Kai smiles through the kiss. They broke the kiss and Kai puts the ring on her finger as it fits perfectly.

“You know, your kissing wasn’t so awkward anymore” he chuckles as she blew raspberry and the tint of pink was visible again on her cheeks.

“Shut up!” she pouts and looks away, suddenly remembering the first kiss that he stole. He was her first and surprisingly she was his. They had their first kiss when they were 15, a month after his birthday.

“Wait! You mean you kissed me back then when you’ve already liked me, right after I told you what those girls said?” she looks at him in the eyes.

“You know it baby” he pecks the tip of her nose and then resumes last night activity, much to Hyerin’s pleasure.
