the way things were
In the pack of many souls, things had Always been the way they Were. Young sons come of age take the place of his fathers and gains a chance to prove their determination to the pack. For many years, it was all but a necessity to survive. New strength, fresh minds and bodies against the constant struggle to maintain unassuming in a human dominated world.
But over time... A ripple began to slip through the pack. A secret that threatened to be a collapsing social sink hole. The former luna was beloved to the people, a perfect bride for Alpha Liam and someone who broughy kindness to an easy to anger leader. The pack seemed to rejoice when she was finally pregnate, and the promise of twins left all feeling hopeful.
Well- Almost everyone. Once the former luna was finally alone, she could feel her world crumbling around her even as all was still in the small bathroom. Everything the two had built, all of the hopes and dreams for the twins idyllic child washed down the drain at 18 weeks.
"Clara....?"
Soft footsteps down the hallway were a unpleasent soundtrack to the way the tile spun. A squeak of the door went
unnoticed until arms were tangled around her.
"Are you alright? You gave me a hell of a scare with your stuff all over the floor."
"Liam....
We're having girls."

{21 years later}
I knew nothing about my fiancee- the words sounded silly coming out of my mouth. At 19, i was lucky to have a guaranteed future. A partner to be, a beautiful house to live in. Yet the idea that my real mate could be out there hoping to find me someday weighed on my mind during more then a few restless nights. How silly? I thought to myself. Some people never find their mates- i cant put my people at risk and my life on hold for some childish wish of mine... even if i'd really like too.
