Chapter 5 - The Cabin

1802 Words
POV Ace     I found her in a small cabin not to far from where we had our first encounter. The place smells of nothing but her so I can assume that she lives here. I didn’t want to threaten her, but I felt like I had no other choice. I had to talk to her. After what felt like years, she opened the door for me. I slowly walked in because I didn’t want to scare her. It was dark and I couldn’t see a thing.     “Where are you little mate?” I said concerned that she was still hiding from me.     Two little words filled my entire heart, “I’m here.” Then a light flicked on and I saw her just sitting there on the smallest sofa I think I’ve ever seen in my life. She looked up at me and I looked into her eyes that were now a bright hazel color. Greens, golds, and light browns swirled in them and I felt the breath in my lungs give way. I couldn’t help but feel all types of emotions.     “Why? Why would you reject me?” I felt the tears pulling in my eyes and thought that I might lose it. I am an Alpha, the leader of one of the biggest and strongest packs in the nation and here I am losing it over this one girl. I can’t help it.     “I don’t have a choice.” She said softly looking down. I can hear the sadness in her voice. It pulls at my heart but also lightens it. Whatever is going on here is obviously affecting her decision.     “Talk to me love. What is preventing you from being with your mate?” I said softly approaching her. She looked away from me. I sense something, but I’m not sure what it is. “Please look at me.” I said sitting down on the couch next to her. I placed my hand on her knee and I swear the entire world turned upside down. The tingles and sparkles from just one simple touch was intoxicating. I had to let go. At that she jumped and turned to me. Hers eyes were completely black, and I knew that her wolf had taken over.     “Hello girl, is everything okay?” I said trying to see if I can get answers from at least her wolf.     “MATE!” she said a bit aggressively.     “Yes girl, I am your mate.” At this I could feel Max trying to burst out of me. He wanted his mate just as much as she wanted him.     ‘Max, please calm down. We don’t want to scare them.” I said trying to calm him down.     ‘She’s not scared! Let me out human! I want her!” He responded aggressively.     ‘Max, this has to be her human’s choice, not her wolfs. We don’t want her doing something she’ll regret later.’ I tried again.     ‘Fine, but you owe me a good time!’ He responded backing down whimpering in the back corner of my head.       “Need mate!” she demanded.        “What is your name girl?” I asked trying to distract her.     “Lily, stupid human is Alina.” She said so matter a factly that I couldn’t help but laugh. She smiled a bit, never taking her gaze off me. She then looked down my body and licked her lips as if I were a piece of steak or something. I then remembered, that I was naked.     “Oh! Uhh, hold on. Let’s make this easier.” I said standing up and going towards the door. I could hear Lily whimper behind me but I knew that if this conversation was going to get anywhere, I needed to get some clothes.     ‘Jason, track me. Bring me clothes as soon as you can. I’m in a small cabin not far from the new territory.’ I mindlinked Jason.     Within seconds, ‘Roger that Alph man! On my way!’.     After about ten minutes of a very awkward Lily stare down, Jason finally arrived with my clothes. When the truck pulled up, Lily jumped at the sound of it and for a split second she looked away from me. Her gaze was quickly back on me though.     “Lily girl, I will be right back. I promise.” I said smiling and giving her a small wink. She threw her face into a pillow and I could hear her slightly purring. My goddess this girl is adorable. I walked outside to Jason who handed me my clothes.     “What’s going on Alpha, you just took off?” He said looking at me concerned.     “She’s in there.” I said pulling on the basketball shorts he brought me.     “Who’s in there?” He said confused.     I pulled on the shirt and looked him in the eyes smiling, “Our Luna”. He jumped in the air and threw himself into me giving me the biggest bear hug known to man.     “I knew she would come! I knew it!” He said whisper yelling at me.     “Alright, alright, calm down man. There are some minor issues that I’m hoping that we can work out here. But for right now, tell no one she is here. Go back to the pack and cover for me. Hopefully, some time tomorrow I’ll be bringing our new Luna home.” I said to him. At that I hear the door open and close to the cabin. I turn around and see her with a bag over her arm and going to a car.     “s**t! Jason, just head back to the pack. If I need anything, I’ll let you know.” And with that I ran to her. She opened the driver side door right when I got to her and I slammed it shut right before she could get in. I turned her around towards me and she started crying.     “Please, just let me go. Please, I need to go!” she begged me through tears.     “I just want to talk to you Alina. Please.” I said begging her back.     “I can’t! I can’t let him find me!” she said lowering herself to the ground and curling up with her head on her knees. I lowered myself to her.     “Who can’t find you? Alina, please talk to me. I am here for you. I promise, whatever it is, we can figure out together.” She looked up at me after my reassurance to her. I looked into her eyes, “I promise.” I said again placing my hands on her knees slightly. Hopefully, my touch can calm her down. She took a deep breath and nodded. I stood up and she followed my lead. I grabbed her hand and walked her back into the cabin.     “Do we have to talk now? I’m exhausted and can’t think straight. Perhaps we can talk in the morning?” She said yawning a bit.     “I don’t want you to leave in the middle of the night.” I responded honestly.     “I won’t. I promise.” She said looking at me. I wanted to believe her, but I couldn’t. Max couldn’t either, I could hear him growling and mumbling threats at me if I left her here.     “Well, if that’s the case, then I’m not leaving. I’m staying here.” I said with authority behind my voice. She nodded and I hopped on the world’s tiniest couch in the world to lay down. She blushed and giggled at me. I looked up at her, smiled and jokingly said, “What, I’m going to sleep.”     She giggled again, “Well, if you want to be more comfortable, I guess you can sleep in the room.”     My heart sank, if we switch then she can leave through the door without me noticing. “I’m fine here. I want you to get your beauty rest.” I said trying to keep my cool.       “No, uhh…” she bit her bottom lip, “I meant we can both sleep in the room?” she said it like it was a question. I jumped up not really aware of my actions.      “Okay! Let’s do it!” I sounded way to excited for this. She looked at me dumbfounded.     “We’re just sleeping. I don’t need you getting a bad cramp because of my crappy couch.” She said turning around and walking into the room.     Once we were there, she took time to show me how the TV works and how the fan works. She had all but three channels on this thing and the fan was on of those super cheap ones that sits on a table and just sways back and forth. Man, I would give anything for my flat screen and ceiling fan right about now.       “I’m gunna hop in the shower, if you want you can take one after me. I don’t have any guy clothes for you to wear exactly, but I do have some basketball shorts that my friend Daphne’s husband left here once and a giant t-shirt that I use as a night gown.” She walked over to the dresser and pulled them out and left them on the bed for me. She walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower and just like that, I forgot about my flat screen and ceiling fan.     After about ten minutes of watching some nonsense on the TV I heard the shower cut off. A few minutes more and she came out with a towel on her head wearing shorts and just a t-shirt. I can see her breast protruding through the t-shirt, and I felt myself throbbing a tad.     “I left you some hot water. Uhh… There’s a wrench thing in there that you need to turn to the left to turn the water on.” She said embarrassed. She blushed and I jumped up, grabbed the clothes and went to go hop in. I got in there and I swear this bathroom in general is the smallest bathroom known to man. I pull the curtain back to the shower and turned the water on. With a wrench. I had to turn the water on with a wrench. For f***s sake. I get in and the entire time I’m having to crouch just to have the water rinse my whole body. I find some shampoo and lather it through my hair. At least I know where the lily ginger smell now comes from. I quickly rinse my hair and turn off the water, with a wrench, and get out. There was a towel on the counter. I dried off and got dressed. I walked out and she was laying on the bed on her front watching the world’s smallest TV. She turned and looked at me and rolled on her side. I can tell she brushed out her hair because it looked neat and silky.     “Do you feel better now that you’re clean?” she asked slightly smiling.     “Yes.” I responded.     “Great, let’s go to sleep. I am exhausted.” She said yawning. We both pulled the covers back and got in to lay down. She turned off the TV and the lamp and turned to get comfortable. I laid all the way in with my feet hanging off the end but enjoying every second of it. I slowly drifted off into the heaviest sleep I've ever had.
