“Do you honestly believe I had no choice about what happened when I was with Raleigh? That I’m not to blame?”
Nodding, Todd said, “Yes. With everything in me. I think you’re too hard on yourself. No one is perfect, and it’s part of our job. I know it hurts, but sometimes all you can do is get through to fight another day.”
Nick drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Guess I should try to believe that, too.”
Todd rubbed his fingers through Nick’s hair a few times before he bent his head and pressed a kiss to Nick’s forehead. His mate would work through this and be fine. Todd knew in his heart this to be absolute truth. No matter what, Todd would be there for Nick, keep him safe, make sure he knew he was loved, and help him heal.
