Chapter 9 Nick was staring at a wall. He blinked a few times and pulled in full, easy breaths, letting them out again slowly. Finally, his brain kicked in and let him know he was awake. Groaning softly, he rubbed his forehead. The soft c***k of chains registered at the same time Nick realized his arm felt heavy and slightly weighted down. Blinking a few times more, he pushed up on an elbow and looked around. Soft leather bands were locked around both wrists and ankles. Attached to them were chains. He was in the bedroom, secured to a cot with chains long enough to allow him to turn over, but short enough he couldn’t get farther away than a foot or so. Within that foot distance was a bucket Nick supposed he was to use to relieve himself if he needed to before being unchained. Bright sunl
