Adeline's POV
“IN THIS world, you need to be good at hiding your true identity. Because if you can’t do that, you might as well back out now. Because when the moment they find out you’re human, that will be your end,” the old woman said to me seriously while staring straight into my eyes.
I blinked and bit my lower lip. I didn’t know what to do anymore, I couldn’t think a good thing. But this is for my siblings. If I don’t make an action, who will? I’m the eldest. Our parents are gone—they both drowned on the ship they were riding. And our relatives don’t care about us anymore. I was only 18 when our parents died, and my twin siblings were 10 years old that time.
My twin siblings is one girl and one boy and their name is Adriana and Adrielle. They’re still studying, and I don’t want them to stop because of lack of money. And I don’t want them to end up like me, who only finished Senior High School.
“I won’t back out. I’ve already made up my mind.”
“Are you absolutely sure?”
“Yes. I don’t have any other choice. The salary is big and anyway I’ll just be a housemaid, right?”
“Don’t underestimate your position, because the ones you’ll live with in that house are no joke.”
“Why? Who are they?”
“They’re vampires, Adeline. And not just ordinary vampires—they’re powerful. They can take your life in just a blink of an eye.”
I froze in confusion. Was that true? Was she joking? But she looked serious. It seemed impossible to make her laugh even if you tried to make face.
“I’m sure…” for my siblings I'm always sure about my decision, even if my life will put in danger.
THE old woman told me that when the full moon rises, I should wait under the bridge. I must not leave because someone would fetch me and bring me to that place.
A place filled with vampires. It’s far away, hidden—that’s what she said. I also entrusted my two siblings to my friend Nari. I’ll just send money once I start receiving my salary.
Minutes passed, then an hour, until four hours had gone by, and still no vehicle came to fetch me.
I looked at my watch and frowned. It was already midnight, but no one had arrived. It was freezing cold. It was also very dark under the bridge—and full of mosquitoes.
Maybe that old woman was just fooling me. Maybe the vampire story was just a joke, and she made me look stupid. She even gave me a necklace so that the vampire wouldn’t smell me—turns out she might just be a scammer.
I should just leave. I need money, and this is when they decide to fool me. I even got tempted by that 100,000 salary. Who in their right mind would pay a housemaid 100,000?
I was about to turn around when I suddenly felt dizzy. I held my forehead and blinked repeatedly as I heard rustling beside me. I saw the figure of a man before I completely closed my eyes.

Vladimir’s POV
“Master, what should we do with her? Are we really going to make her a maid when she has human blood?” Huff asked me.
He is my right-hand man, especially when it comes to getting the women I need for blood. I grow weak if I don’t drink human blood—especially from virgins. I prefer virgins because their blood tastes better.
And I don’t know what went through Rosalinda’s mind when she brought this woman. I specifically told her to bring one of my kind—a fellow vampire—not a mortal. I don’t want many rivals. What I want is mine alone.
Rosalinda must have thought I wouldn’t find out that girl was mortal just because of the necklace she made. She must have forgotten that I am the strongest vampire in this place, and everyone fears me.
“Just let her. There’s no harm in trying,” I said with a smile while looking at my wine glass.
“Are you sure, Master?”
I smiled wider.
“Yes."
This will gonna be fun.

Adeline’s POV
I OPENED my eyes when I felt something lightly tapping my cheek.
When I opened my eyes fully, a beautiful woman greeted my sight. Her brows were furrowed as she examined me like I was some lost stranger.
She stepped back when she saw I was awake. I sat up and smiled at her.
“Hi! I’m Adeline Sanchez! And you? Who are you?” I greeted cheerfully.
She avoided my gaze and seemed frightened as she ran out of the room.
I frowned and stared at the door she exited through.
“Huh? What was that? What’s wrong with her?” I scratched my head in confusion.
And suddenly I looked around. I wasn’t familiar with this room. It was plain—white walls, a simple bed—but it had a bathroom. Where am I?
Could this be the place the old woman was talking about?
I quickly touched the necklace she gave me, afraid it might be gone. I breathed in relief when I felt it was still there.
“Miss Adeline.”
I suddenly stood up when a cold voice called my name. When I looked at the owner of that voice I saw a handsome man. He was wearing a black suit, but he looked pale, as if lacking blood. His expression was extremely serious.
Oh god, he is a vampire!
“Um, hello?” I greeted awkwardly. He looked so serious—it was almost scary to greet him, like he might just ignore you.
“Greetings, Miss Adeline. I just want to inform you that the Master is already awake, and the kitchen needs you. Go and cook for our Master.” I felt flustered hearing that.
“The Master does not like to be angered.”
Was I just imagining it when he smirked? Maybe, because he turned away afterward—but I’m sure I saw it!
He faced me again.
“And by the way I'm Huff and… welcome.”
