Chapter 1#
February, 2017. •Andrea• "Rosalie, get out of my house! You're nothing but a traitor! How could you do this to me?! After everything I did for you?! How could you betray me?!" He questioned me in fury. "Riccardo, please! I swear! I was framed! I never cheated on you with your brother, I swear! He's lying!" I countered in tears. "The evidences are clear, Rosalie. I want you out of my house and out of my life for good! And don't ever think of coming back here! Ever! I'll send the divorce papers to you. Just sign them and get out of my life." He said, raking his hands through his hair as he turned his back on me. "But but-- Riccardo, you know what we've been through together After everything, after all the sacrifices and everything I've done for you. You do this to me, Riccardo? Me? You're hurting me here, Riccardo! Riccardo me? After everything! Riccardo, you think I'd do something like that to you?" "You gave me no choice, Rosalie. You betrayed me. You made fun of my love for you. You ridiculed it." "Fine. If that's what you think. But Riccardo, I....I have nowhere else to go..." I pleaded with him. "Please Riccardo. You said you love me. If truly you do, then you should that I would never do something like that to you, Riccardo." He scoffed. "You betrayed all that love, Rosalie. My decision is final. You will leave and you will sign the divorce papers and you will never...ever come back here. Ever. Do you understand me, Rosalie?" "Riccardo--" "Leave!" I lowered my head in shame and turned around as I walked out of the Del Valle's mansion. The servants were all staring at me in mockery. Tears rolled down my eyes as I made my way out of the house. The moment I stepped out, I came face to face with Camille Hernandez, his assistant and first love. The woman that would do anything to be with Riccardo. "Look at her. You really thought a girl like you could be with a man like Riccardo, the son of the richest man in the country?" She laughed mischievously as she eyed me from head to toe. I lowered my head and sobbed. She smiled, stepped closer to me and pulled out her phone. "Here. You see these? These are photos of us together from last night." I lifted my head and stared at the photo in her phone. There was a photo of her lying on Riccardo's bare chest and a duvet was tucked around the both of them. "You see, Rosalie. He's been cheating on you with me for weeks now. It was all his plan along to get rid of you. That was why he came up with all that scandal of you and his brother. He only made you look like the villain here. He doesn't love you, Rosalie. He never did." I dropped down on my knees and sobbed. He betrayed me. Riccardo betrayed me. How could he? How could he have done something like that to me?! He didn't only cheat on me with Camille, he also framed me and made me look like I was the one having an affair. How could he? "Now listen to me and listen to me very well. Riccardo doesn't want to ever see your face again. Infact, he doesn't care about what will even happen to you once you're out of here. Just do yourself a favor and sign the divorce papers then get out of our lives, forever, Rosalie. You don't belong here. Stay away from Riccardo. Is that clear?" With that, she walked inside. I clenched my fists as more tears rolled down my eyes even harder. I'm done. I'm done being a pawn. I'm done being used by the man I love and thought loved me. I'm done being betrayed. I'm done being treated by these people like I'm nothing but a piece of trash. I'm done being stepped all over. I'm done being walked upon. I'm done being casted aside like a broken toy. It's too much. I can't take it anymore. I took a deep breath. I can do this. I'll divorce him. I can go on living. I'll survive. I'll survive in this cruel world. I'll survive without him. I'll survive without Riccardo. But one thing is for sure. I'll never forgive Riccardo for this. . . . °January 2024.° "Madam President? Madam president?" I snapped back to my senses as I directed my gaze to the young hostess who stood in front of me. "Yes?" "We're here." She told me and I smiled. I sighed then placed down my glass of champagne as I got up and made my way out of the plane. My bodyguards were already waiting as I made my way out with a smile. "Welcome, Madam president. I'm Dave. Your personal chauffeur and headguard." A young good-looking man who looked like he was in his late twenties smiled at me as he pulled open the door of a sleek Rolls Royce. Disregarding him with a blunt look, I got into the car. The rest of my men lined up behind him got in the other cars as we made our way out of the airport. "Um, madam president, how was your trip from France?" Dave asked me, obviously trying to strike a conversation with me. I didn't respond. "Madam president--" "I'd suggest you stick to your job, Mr. Reese." He opened his mouth to say something but later closed it. "Yes ma'am." The car came to a sleek stop and I stepped out, one of my men came up from behind and slipped my robe on me as I made my way into Queen Group. "She's here! She's here! She's coming! That's her? The chosen heiress? Wow, she's so beautiful! What a goddess! She's here!" The whispers grew louder as I made my way to the boardroom. My men waited outside as doors pulled open and I walked in. Every single person present were surprised to see me as they all got up from their seats, a sign of respect to the newly appointed president of Queen Group, me, Andrea Queen. I made my way to the Queen's chair and took my seat. I leaned back and observed everyone seated. "I'm assuming you all already know who I am. Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Andrea Queen. The new head and president of Queen Group. As you all know, my father is ill and is currently undergoing treatment in India as we speak and he has put me in charge of all his assets, Queen Group included." "I don't understand. How is that even possible?" A middle aged man, identified as Mr. Danvers spoke up. "You're not even the true heir. You're just an illegitimate child of his. Queen deserves someone worthy. Someone capable. Someone with the right attributes not just anyone. Not just some bastard child we didn't even know existed until Robert's sudden illness." I smiled and leaned back on my chair. "Mr. Danvers? Am I right?" I asked casually as crossed my legs. "You seem to be... going quite the fast pace, aren't you? Well, it seems I didn't introduce myself well enough. Let me repeat myself. My name is Andrea Queen. Daughter of Robert Queen and now the newly appointed president of Queen Group. I'll just assume I wasn't the one you were speaking to few seconds ago. Let's say I've just shown you the ultimate mercy. I'll dismiss your cowardice and insolence but the next person to go against or insult me here will not only be fired from this conglomerate but also be stripped of every right to get another job anywhere else in this country. Or even in any part of the world. I'll suggest you show some respect to the woman who writes the paycheck to your daily bread, or isn't that correct, everyone?" They were all speechless. I smiled as I looked at Mr. Danvers. "You got anything else to say, Danvers?" He lowered his gaze. "My apologies, Madam President. It won't happen again." My lips curved into a smile. "Apologies accepted. Now, where were we?" •Riccardo• "Good morning sir. Good morning sir. Good morning, Mr. Del Valle. Welcome sir." The greetings were endless as I made my way into my office. After stepping in as CEO of Emporium Chain of Companies, A mega Italian-American corporation that belongs to the Del Valle Family, the corporation has never done so well before, skyrocketing to one of the best and biggest Corporations in the world with many awards and praises to its name and it has recently been ranked as one of the best earning companies of all time, thanks to me who paved the way for the company's success. "Good morning sir." My secretary greeted me as I quickly took my seat. "Morning, Gia. Cancel all my schedules for this week and the next--" I told my secretary as I flipped through a few documents for the morning. "But sir, you have important meetings before this weekend. For example, there's your meeting in San Francisco by nine on Wednesday, an interview with Forbes by ten on Thursday though it's not that important but you can't skip it, a meeting with Minister of welfare and resources by eleven same Thursday and on Friday, you have a meeting with The new head and president of Queen Group." I scrunched my brows as I looked up at her. "Queen Group? Isn't that like Robert Queen? The Robert Queen? I thought he was ill and has refused to put any one charge of his conglomerate?" "Yes sir. But news has been circulating that his daughter, Andrea Queen is now the new head of the billion dollar conglomerate. Sources say she's ruthless and merciless in the business world. Plus she recently just came back to the country after dominating the western part of the world. There are no photos of her but sources say she's incredibly beautiful, so beautiful that she could easily pass for a human goddess." "Gia?" I called out as I placed my hand on my jaw. "Yes sir?" "Did I ask you to emphasize on how beautiful she is?" She scratched her hair and clung tighter to my schedule book. "Uhm..no sir. I just--" "Wanted to what? Hm?" I asked, raising my head to look at her. "Sorry sir. It won't happen again." "If only that were true. You're done. For the hour. You can leave now. And tell David to get the jet ready. I'm leaving for Milan in thirty and I'll be back tomorrow." "Yes sir." She said as she bowed her head briefly and walked out of my office. The moment she was out of my office, I leaned back and pondered on what she had just said. I thought Robert Queen deemed his kids useless, unfit and incapable of taking over as the head of Queen Group? How come there's a new head and why haven't I heard of her before? Who on earth is this Andrea Queen and why is she so highly spoken of? I sighed and leaned back on my chair as I inserted the key to one of my drawers and pulled out photos of her. My Rosalie. Even till this day, she still hasn't been found despite all my relentless efforts. God, this was all my fault. If only I had trusted her back then. If only I didn't allow my anger overcloud my judgement. I should have believed her. I shouldn't have doubted her. I should never had let her go. I should have stood by her like any husband would. I should have believed in our love and never had doubted her love for me. How on earth can I make things right? Why on earth did I let my anger get the better of me? Sleepless nights. Night of torments. Unsettled mind. Heart that has known no other love. All because I let her go. The only woman I've ever loved. What on earth happened to you, Rosalie?
