Teachings

898 Words
Kay never knew the culture behind the werewolves. Sitting in a pup class listening to the teacher telling stories about the Moon Goddess fascinates her. She never knew that the Moon Goddess was the one blessing her with her wolf. Well, for white wolves, their entire existence is a blessing to itself. The white wolves are, in many stories, the Moon Goddess herself, pure and innocent. That's why they are white and some are born as wolves. Keeping these wonderful tales in her mind, Kay was taught how to write her own name this morning. Excited to show Hila and Drex what she was taught today as she burst through the doors of the meeting room open. Drex frowned immediately at this sudden disturbance. He relaxes the moment he recognizes the beauty in the door. "Drex, look!" Kay shows him a piece of paper with writing on it. It looks like a toddler's handwriting. "This is how you write my name!" she adds while walking over to him. Ignoring the shocked expressions from the other alphas in the room. She is oblivious to what is going on around her. It's her eyes making them uncertain of what to make of her. "I see. You should be proud of yourself for learning this on your first day," Drex says, encouraging and smiling at her. "Where is Hila?" Kay asks, concerned, and Drex gives her the paper. "Getting our food ready for lunch," Drex answers, and Kay nods. "Thank you. See you later." Kay leaves again, closing the doors. Drex gives a chuckle at this. It's clear that Kay registered what she just did. Her face was bright red while closing the door. "Alpha Prince Drex. Is she a special case? A bit retarded?" One alpha asks, concerned with a bit of judgment in his voice. Drex smiles at this. "Oh yes. She is a very special case." Drex couldn't help but chuckle again at what he saw today. The child-like excitement in her and the next moment, the embarrassment of being the center of attention. It's clear that Kay isn't a child anymore. A young lady with emotions and feelings like any other teenage girl. Kay walks into the kitchen. Because the food is kept here, she came here after being told that Hila is making lunch. As Drex said, Hila is helping the kitchen staff with preparing lunches. "Why so blue, Kay?" Hila asks, concerned, seeing the scared look on Kay's face. Kay looked up at Hila. Her face changing immediately to her neutral one. Hila just smiles at her. "You can always talk to me, you know," Hila adds with a smile, and Kay nods at this. "Uhm, I am not sure what just happened. I'm sure I'll figure it out," Kay reinforces herself. Kay frowns at this again. Thinking about this weird experience she just had. Her heart pounded quickly in her chest, her palms got sweaty and her mind felt like racing. This is the first time she felt this way. The thought of Drex causes this reaction again. Kay growls at this, causing the kitchen staff to jump in surprise. "Kay?" Hila asks, is concerned, and gives her duty over to someone else. "What's wrong?" she guides Kay outside for some fresh air. Her eyes looking around, searching for something she knows. Her eyes fall on a flower. She gets her breathing under control and this calms her down a bit. "Use your words," Hila tries to get her to speak. Kay frowns again. This time she takes Hila's hand and lets her feel what she is feeling. The feeling of being in love overflows in Hila and her eyes go wide at this. "What is this feeling?" Kay asks in confusion and Hila just stares at her for a bit. Kay can see that Hila is trying to make sense of things. She can see the thoughts running through her mind and eyes. "You're in love?" Hila asks, confused still. Kay froze at this question. She knows what it means, but the one causing her to feel like this is the one she is baffled by. She wants to know why. "Thanks, Hila. At least I know what the meaning is," Kay informs her, and Hila gives her a smile. "Your first time?" Hila asks happily about this discovery. "Yes. having these feelings" is all Kay says to her question. Kay will not provide any more information on this topic. Kay sighs and shows Hila her name on a piece of paper so that the topic and awkwardness can go away. "Oh wow. You learned a lot today," Hila praises her with a warm smile. "I can teach you more words if you would like to learn tonight after dinner?" Hila suggests and Kay bites her lip, thinking it over quickly. Her eyes are darting all over as she thinks about it. She would love to learn more. "Yes, please," she finally decided that felt like forever for the Hila waiting in suspends. "Great, after dinner. I'll go to your room," Hila says happily. She always wanted a younger sister, and Kay to be so adorable. Hila can't help but feel like a big sister to Kay. She gets a warm fussy feeling in her chest and Hila loves this feeling of love. It's not romantic love, just one you have for family.
