Kay made sure she had a big enough paper stash for her learning section after dinner. She was relieved to learn that Drex won't be there. She feels her heart won't be able to handle this weirdness she feels for him today.
Hila claims it is love or at least the beginning of something bigger. She doesn't like it at the moment. This is new to her, an unknown that scares her. She doesn't get scared that easily, but this time it's different. It's affecting her mood, her thoughts, and her way of thinking at the moment.
She is not used to this. Why she feels like this, only this Moon Goddess she learned about will know. The knock-on her door gets her attention. She walks over to open in and finds Hila with books and pens in her hands. "Wow, you also were prepared," Hila says, impressed as she enters the room looking at the papers on the floor, ready to get written on.
"Yes, I want to learn as much as possible," Kay says with excitement. Hila can't help but smile at her. She is too unknown, but she feels like she knows Kay. Or is it Kay making her feel comfortable being in her presence?
One of the elderly females suggested they all may feel like that because a white wolf holds a special place for the Moon Goddess. They also said that the Moon Goddess is always with them, that's why they feel calm around her.
Hila smiles at Kay as she gets ready for her night of learning.
Kay is learning faster and faster than she thought possible. Kay never went to school and never had friends before.
She never needed to trust anyone, and yet, here she is. Sitting next to a tamed wolf as if she can be trusted. Well, Hila feels she can be trusted.
Her eyes were scanning over the room. Kay is not planning to stay here long. She'll probably leave when she feels like it. A thought came to Hila. She wonders if she helped Kay decorate this room to her liking if Kay will stay forever? She can only hope.
To have a white wolf's blessing over this pack would be amazing. She would love to see the faces of the other princes when this pack rises above all of them. Proving that her Prince is the true prince. Her eyes are moving back to Kay as she is busy writing the new letters she learned tonight.
She learned almost all the letters of the alphabet. Hila also wonders if this fast learning of Kay is because she is a white wolf or is she that smart, to begin with. Kay is a mystery to her. She only saw the king's white wolf from afar. She never got the chance to speak to him.
And the only reason she knows his gender is because it was told to them from a young age. She heard a rumor once that the king's white wolf found his mate. Luckily, it was only a rumor. Nothing after that was heard again. Her mind asks questions she shouldn't, but with Kay here she feels like she can.
She can't help but wonder about things again. She was always curious about that rumor and wanted to know if the white wolf mated with his soulmate. Hila's mind is always getting her in trouble. She can't leave well enough alone. She needs to know.
"Done!" Kay pronounces it as she looks at her own writings. "I need to practice," she adds while comparing Hila's writings to her own. "Yours is so pretty," Kay adds, making Hila smile.
"Well, with practice comes perfection. Most of the time. Won't always be perfect," Hila encourages her. Kay looks satisfied with what she learned and did today. "Hopefully soon I can join the bigger pups and learn more," Kay said with hope in her voice and a sparkle in her eyes. She looks adorable at the moment. "Kay, do you know your parents?" the question just slipped out of Hila's mouth.
Hila's eyes go wide as she just realized what she asked. She feels ashamed for just asking this straightforward without hesitation. She is still trying to gain control over this impulsiveness she sometimes struggles with. "No, I don't. I've been alone in the wild for as long as I can remember," Kay answers without feeling sad about it. "Don't you wish you knew them?" Hila asks, concerned about it.
She knew she would be lost without her parents as a pup. Kay looks up at her, her beautiful eyes show nothing of any emotion regarding this question. "How could I wish for it? Why would I wish for it? I am a wild wolf. I lived my whole life till now as a wolf. I never knew my parents or knew the feeling of missing them," she answers Hila's question with a genuine smile. "What can I miss if I don't know?" She adds that Hila finally understood what she meant. Kay was right. If you do not know, you can not.
"How about you write a love letter to your crush?" Hila teases. Kay's ears are red and she wants to hide her face. Hila giggles at Kay's reaction. She can't help but burst out laughing at this cute behavior. Kay glares at her.
She also bursts out laughing in a few seconds. Her laugh is beautiful. Hila stopped to look at Kay. She looks happy and so free of life's burdens. Hila's grin turned to tease again. This immediately made Kay stop her from laughing immediately. "So, do I know the one who stole your heart?" she asks playfully but is still serious enough for Kay to know she needs to answer her truthfully.
Kay blushes at this while looking down. "Yes, you do," she answers truthfully. Hila is surprised by her honesty. "Really? How well do I know him?" she asks proudly of the accomplishment of getting Kay to open up a bit. "I bit it too well," Kay confesses. Hila's mouth falls open. She can't hide the facts of what she just heard. "How did that happen?" Hila asks, confused. This time, Kay makes eye contact.
She is not confused. "I feel something pulling me towards him. I don't know what it is," Kay answers, and Hila's eyes go wide again. "It can't be possible. A second chance mate?" Hila proclaims. Kay frowns at this.
She learned of this today. Mates, or rather soulmates, are the correct term. It's someone that the Moon Goddess has made especially for you. They are compatible with you. They are your better half. Not everyone is lucky enough to meet their soul mate, it's even rarer to get a second one.
Kay can't believe this. She doesn't know what to make of this. "Please don't tell him, Hila. He doesn't know yet. I can sense he is still recovering from something. This will not go well if he knows. Especially now. "I don't think this is a good time," Kay begs with a feeling of embarrassment and to these newfound feelings, and Hila is shocked that Kay picked up on this. "You're right. He is dealing with something at the moment. It's terrible too," Hila affirms, what Kay already knew. "Promise you will say anything to him or try to help us in any way?" Kay demands her.
Hila can feel her vibe, and she nods at her. "Yes, Luna. I will not say a word to him," the respected name just slipped out of Hila's mouth. Hila shuts her mouth with her hands and looks terrified. "It just slipped out," she adds quickly, concerned that Kay would freak out at her.
"Don't call me that in front of anyone," Kay demands again. Hila nods at this, glad that Kay didn't punish her or force her dominance over her. "Thank you, Hila," Kay acknowledged her once again. Hila smiles at her and feels, for some reason, closer to Kay.
