Sabrina
He let go of me instantly, as I saw the angry blonde woman that had suddenly walked into the room. I was still reeling from the thick aura of his scent when that woman walked up to me.
“What are you trying to do?” she asked, staring at me with those furious eyes.
“Nothing… I’m just—”
“Shut up…” she cut me off while I was still trying to speak. “I wasn’t speaking to you, filth… I was speaking to Logan.”
“Amaya, calm down.” Logan sounded like he was giving an order. “I have this under control. Your interference is not necessary. It’s under control…”
“Or she has you under her control? Is she some sort of witch?” Amaya came at me with a fierceness that I couldn’t understand.
“She’s not worth it…” Logan said, taking hold of Amaya by her hand. “She’s not worth the fuss. Just let me handle this…”
“Let the guards handle her. Filth like her don’t deserve to be touched by the alpha…” Amaya’s words cut deep, but then, I couldn’t return them, as I was nothing but a helpless prisoner in a strange land where I had happened to run into my mate.
To make things even worse, my mate took her side. At that point, I was desiring freedom.
“Fine…” Logan finally agreed to her incessant, annoying whining. “Let’s just leave…”
Amaya stared at me with her eyes blazing hot with indignation, showing clearly that we had some unfinished business. But I didn’t care what that was, all I wanted was to be set free.
There was still the strong longing to be with Logan, even though he had treated me so badly, because of that annoying Amaya. I was overwhelmed by the immense contrast of feelings that had been running through my head.
Before I could sit to take a break from the episode I had just been through, the door suddenly came open with two mean-looking guards who dragged me like some sort of criminal.
“Let go…” I said, but they weren’t going to leave me alone. They both hurled me in a humiliating manner like I was some sort of criminal. All I had done was step into the wrong territory while running away from that bastard Kaleb.
They suddenly dragged me to a room in what looked like a maid’s quarters, threw me into a certain room, and locked the door. I banged on the door crazily, but it was clear that I would be stuck in there for a while.

Logan
Regardless of how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get my mind off her. Even as Amaya was about to come to join me in bed that night. The thrill that usually came with those moments was nowhere to be found.
“Logan…” her hands had been the most soothing thing that had ever touched my body, but that night it felt like a rough brush was rubbing on my skin.
I was craving for the prisoner girl more than ever. But then, I wondered what Amaya would do if she found out that I had her hidden in one of the rooms of the maids’ quarters. The tension was bound to escalate rapidly.
Harboring that thought alone made me unable to think of enjoying that moment with Amaya. It would only be a matter of time before she would find out that I wasn’t even in the act. That would lead to even more trouble than there was at first.
“What’s wrong?” Amaya finally asked as she stopped the kissing and rubbing while she was still mounted on me like a disappointed rider on a nonchalant horse.
“Nothing…” I sighed, rubbing my palm against my head. “I just had a long day, nothing else… just a bit tired…” I was already regretting saying those last words.
“Too tired for me?” she asked, as she got off me angrily. “It’s about that girl, right?”
“Come on now, Amaya… are you being serious?” I’d had enough of her continuous bickering, and decided that would be the last of it. “Don’t tell me you’re still bothered about that prisoner…”
“It’s her isn’t it?” she insisted on getting an answer that she was never going to hear from my lips, even though Sabrina was the reason things had deteriorated between us. “Just say it and quit trying to hide something as obvious as that…”
“I’ve had enough of this conversation,” I said, hurrying out of bed and slipping into my clothes. It was best I left there and then instead of standing at the risk of saying things I wasn’t meant to say.
“Where are you going?” Amaya asked as she was still seated on the sutured at how instantly I was reacting to her poor attitude.
“Anywhere I’m not being accused of fantasizing over a prisoner I knew nothing about…” I said, heading out of the door where I could breathe some free air. At least for the time being, while I tried to think of a way to get myself out of the mess I had gotten myself into.

Kaleb
“What?” I asked, landing a heavy slap on one of the guards I had sent to go after her. It was hard to accept that my mate was gone. Though I didn’t value Sabrina, I just couldn’t bear the thought of seeing her with someone else.
“She managed to set foot into the Lycan territory, and that would have meant death for us if we dared to draw any closer,” one of the men managed to speak up on behalf of the other seven whom I had sent to get me, Sabrina.
“What incompetence…” I sighed tiredly. “How could that weakling outrun all seven of…” my question was cut short by the buzzing of my phone.
I hated being interrupted, but then, I had to answer one of the most powerful women in the province. “Mother…” I called her name gently like I hadn’t been yelling at my guards just then.
“Is that weakling, Sabrina still with you?” she inquired with an urgent tone.
I was instantly afraid that she was the one asking. “Why do you ask?” it would be foolish to let her hopes down without knowing why she was asking.
“She’s the one that we’ve been looking for…”
“What…?” my heart stopped for a couple of moments.

Sabrina
Alone, I sat in that quiet room where I had been locked up. It had almost seemed like an infinite nightmare until the door came open with Logan coming through it.
“What do you want?” I asked, cowering in fear, as I was trying to keep away from him. But everything in me craved for him.
“A deal…” his reply was simple and short.
What now? I wondered.
