The little things that separated us apart. chapter one: the phone call In the early hours of a Wednesday morning I was cutting the lobster I would eat that morning. my name is lunah Macbeth Alisa and I live alone in a three bedroom apartment. but unlucky for me, I couldn't get a job after two years of graduating from raptors ville college. as a girl who got dream for my future achievement had been served with a juice of bombshell, coz at this time for me not to have gotten a job, gosh it's so weird. back to reality my hands had just been pierced and is now bleeding. "oh gosh am so damn foolish" I said to myself "imagine have injured myself with a knife, so silly and careless of me" I said as I dropped the knife to get some cotton and some spirit and some bandages, after a few minutes I was done, as I stood up to dispose the soaked cotton. immediately my phone started ringing I saw an unknown number, still deciding whether to pick it, at first I hunged up but then the caller called again and I decided to pick it " hello pls who's this" I said silently. "oh please am I speaking to miss lunah Macbeth" the other caller said. "oh yeah, how may I help you". "pls come for an interview 1:00pm sharp, at JF academy"the other caller said and hunged up. "yeeeeehhh!!!" I screamed happily, coz this was one of the biggest company as I quickly rushed in took a shower, dressed up, off the gas and wore my heels, me being a lover of short clothes. I wore a very mini and a long baggy shirt, with a pair of long black heels, my shirt was blue with white dots while my skirt was red with black dots. After about twenty minutes of doing my makeup. I left my room, as I was about to open the door my clock sounded this was just 9:00 am. " whaaattt ! ! ! " I screamed throwing my purse on the sofa . " O M G I got so excited I didn't realize it was just nine, O M G lunah you are an i***t" . I said as I put on the gas and prepared lobster roll with egg sauce . I placed it on the table, as I went to change, since I live alone I changed into a short jeans and a baggy top as I sat down to eat. after about fifteen minutes I ate finished , very soon I got bored and started thinking of what to do till one pm , so I decided to go out, and hang out with my friends at least till around 1 : 00 pm . so I stood up changed into a red trouser and a black baggy top, took my purse and left. " oohh geez how Will I see a cab here like this, it's like I might just have to walk . ooh so I will have to walk a whole miles before getting to the apartment they live. actually all four of them ( Betney , Meesha , Tinah , and Rita ) live in a three bedroom flat. All four of them lived together since we graduated from from college. I totally would have loved to stay with them but I already had a house my parents left for me. ******* I got to my friends house and saw them watching a movie " Good morning girls. " I greeted but got no response " Guys am here , which film are you watching " I asked but still got no response , then I realized they were too engrossed in their movie to notice me, so I prayed a silent prayer " oh pls let the power go out so my damn friends can notice me " . Then suddenly not up to five seconds a sharp breeze came into the parlour and the lights and TV went off . " holy s**t why did the power had to go off at the wrong time " . Meesha said silently . " hmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmm " I cleared my throat using style to call their attention. " lunah you are here, when did you arrive " Betney asked as I went to sit. " not too long ago , I just arrived . " I see, but what happened to your legs it's looking like you rolled into a mud " Betney asked looking at my legs . " I was walking on the road when this car passed with speed and splashed some road side mud on me " " and what did you do " Tinah asked with her mouth full of chips " Well I screamed , and the car stopped " " who was in the car " " one guy like that " " so what did he say " " well when he came out , I insulted him immediately as he just stared at me in bewilderment , after few minutes of insulting him he just Said f**k you and he got into his car and drove off he didn't even say sorry " I said feeling a little pained and angry as my friends started laughing. " what is funny in what I said why are you guys laughing " well looking at your explanation , in this case, I think you are the i***t, you just insulted a guy, and he didn't insult you back he just said f**k you, it's kinda embarrassing " Tinah said. " babe you should have given him chance to apologize. imagine you just started insulting him without even giving him a chance to say sorry " Tinah said " whatever " I just said , then we waved the topic aside and started talking about another thing we talked and laughed . And when it was around one pm , I stood up brought out the cloth I brought from home that I wanted to wear and quickly dressed up. " lunah where to " Rita asked . " oh sorry girls I didn't tell you girls, I'm going for an interview at JF academy " I said brushing my hair . " wow ! ! ! " lunah you are so damn lucky, I just hope you get this one coz this is the seventeenth interviews you've gone for, I pray this one clicks . " Rita said happily " yeah this one must actually click because am so tired of asking Lincoln ( my older brother, and only sibbling ) for money every time ". " lunah the way you dress looks like you are heading for club and not interview " . Meesha said looking weirdly at me " girl you know that's my style " I said as I picked my phone " bye girls see you guys later and make sure you prepare something before I come back " I said and left " food monger ". all four of them said and laughed, as I got to the road, being careful with the way I walked in order not to fall with my heels. " hey hey " I shouted, hailing down a cab " where to madam " " am going to united avenue estate No 2 close street , am stopping at JF academy " . " ooh okay ma' am , come in please " the driver said as I entered and we zoomed off. mean while in the car I felt a bit nervous, somehow I thought about what happened to me earlier today and I felt a bit somehow like something is going to happen to me that will change my life for good .
