Chapter one
Before starting, I’m going to inform you about the characters. I know personally I don’t like imagining characters just to find out they look nothing like how I pictured. You are still free to picture the characters as you feel but this is how I personally imagine them as I’m writing. October is a black woman. She has fair skin. October is the beholder of beautiful brown eyes. Sometimes she has braids but often times she has medium length dark brown hair that she lets dangle down in curls or is straightened. She’s curvy with a bit of stomach. She is also 5’2”. Janifer is a woman mixed with Spanish and Italian. She has tanned skin that seems like it was lightly and gently kissed by the sun. Her hair is a light brown and her eyes are a mix of green and hazel. She is skinny but looks like she belongs on a runway. Her hair is always in tight curls. She is 5’4” сука is a white woman. She has skin that is closer to the pale side. She has grey eyes that almost look hazel. But sometimes it looks blue. She’s a blonde. She’s a little chunky. Her hair is sometimes long but until stated, her hair is in a short bob. She is 5’5” Blake is a Puerto Rican man. He has light skin. He has hazel eyes that are hypnotic. He has light freckles on his cheeks and nose. He has a mustache and a beard that comes out to look like a full goatee. He has long curly dark brown hair that is typically worn as braids or a ponytail. He is 5’6” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Lately things weren’t feeling right. This week seemed to have been the worst. October couldn’t help but to notice her husband of seven years constantly stumbling into the house late. Last was in incredibly late. It was as if midnight was the new six o’clock pm. She was sure everything would’ve changed by this week. Her whole month was terrible, to say the least. Unfortunately, this week alone has been much worse. She hoped that he was listening to her when she asked him to come home at a more decent time. It felt more like she was begging. Especially since she was pleading with the one above and the universe to make it happen. But she still knew she needed to hope and even possibly pray to make it happen. Sure he said he would, but would he actually do it. Could he keep his word. It wasn’t often that he did. She was eager to see those moments when he would. For now she would just have to lay in their bed with him and see. ~ ~ ~ ~The next day at 9pm~ ~ ~ ~ October was just finishing up with the feast she had prepared. She made plenty of their favorites; corn on the cob, baked Mac and cheese, baked ziti, meatloaf, fried chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans. That wasn’t all of it, but that was the last few dishes she made and the first she would serve. Cooking helped her keep her mind relaxed. But she also knew it was too much food for one night. She had to pack away at least half of it before she served it. And that’s what she decided to do. As she was halfway done putting some of the food in Tupperware, her phone began to ring. She was excited to see who the caller was and rushed to grab her phone. It was her best friend, but most importantly she notice how late it had gotten. Her husband still hadn’t shown up. “What’s up girl” October said joyfully to Janifer. “ October… we have a problem” “What kind of problem” Imagine asking your best friend to stop enjoying her night and instead spy on someone to see why they didn’t come home on time. All of this because you heard from one of your friends that the car that belongs to your husband was sitting by the newest nightclub to come into town. The same one you wanted to visit with him and brought to his attention. She couldn’t believe her ears. It felt like she was in a bad movie. The phone fell from her hands and smacked the floor, small shards of glass spread around the scene. She didn’t understand why his car would be there. But deep down she knew. She turned to look at the meal she made for dinner and realized she should put everything away instead of just bits and pieces. There’s no way she’s have an appetite and no way she’d let pests feel comfortable in their house just because of what he did. As she stuffed the five course meal into tupperwares and pyrex, she just kept thinking about the words Janifer had said to her. “I was going out to the club, but I stopped when I saw a car that looks like it was your husband’s. I remember you told me you two were going to stay home today, so I wasn’t truly sure. Im waiting online to get into the club but it might be good if you came to make sure it isn’t his. I know if he was there you wouldn’t have been able to answer with it being your anniversary.” October thought they were making progress. If her best friend was correct, then clearly October was wrong. ~~A/n if you have any questions about the book feel free to let me know. I’m always open to criticism and I have no problem trying to clarify what is going on~~
