Chapter 7: Trouble

Nagising ako na masakit ang ulo ko't medyo masakit din ang katawan.

 f**k this hangover! 

Paano kaya ako nakauwi sa bahay?  The last time I check I was in Patrick's garden having so much fun with my close friends, and...and I was punched by a guy because of kissing his girl.

Malay ko bang may syota 'yong haliparot na iyon, siya 'yong lapit nang lapit sa akin, eh lalaki ako, natutukso rin.

Napapikit na lang  ako nang mariin at napahilot bigla sa sintido ko.

 My head is throbbing again. 

Napabalikwas ako nang biglang kumalabog ang pintuan dahil sa pagpasok ng kapatid kong si Sabrina na ngayon ay tinungo ang closet at bigla na lamang akong pinagbabato ng mga damit ko.

"What the hell are you doing Sabrina!" I shouted to my sister.

 Instead of giving me an answer she just raises her left eyebrow at pinagpatuloy ang pambabato sa akin.

Marahas akong tumayo sa kama at kaagad siyang nilapitan habang patuloy niya akong binabato.

"Sab! Ano ba?! Isa!" sabi ko nang may pagbabanta.

Hinawakan ko ang palapulsuhan niya upang mapigilan siya pero nang magkatitigan kami ay nawala ata lahat ng tapang ko sa katawan.

I saw anger in her eyes kaya medyo kumalma muna ako.

Marahas niyang binawi ang kamay niya sa akin at tinulak ako palayo sa kanya.

Kinakabahan ako, the way she looks at me, paraa bang ang laki 

"This will not gonna happen Topher if you only do your job well!" she's pointing her finger on me as if I ruined something!

Napangiwi ako sa pagkirot ng ulo ko.

"What the hell are you talking about? And...don't you dare point your finger on me!" I said bago ko tinabig ang kamay niya.

She rolls her eyes at me and took a deep sigh.

"Pack your things now, Christopher, for you're leaving in a couple of hours," she said before she turned her back to me.

What the hell did I just hear?

Me leaving in a couple of hours now? What the hell is happening?

What on earth have I done to be treated this bad?

Dali-dali akong umalis sa kama ko upang mahabol ang kapatid ko.

I grabbed her arm and I got shocked when I saw her bloodshot eyes. Her tears are slowly flowing in her cheeks. Pumungay ang mga mata ko't napabuntong hininga na lamang. I wipe her tears pero tinabing niya ang kamay ko.

"Nakabuntis ba ako kaya pinapalayas mo ako?" pagbibiro ko.

She let a soft chuckle.

"How cruel are you? Ni kasalanan mo hindi mo alam? Iyan, puro pansarili lang iniisip mo! Ni hindi mo man lang naisip na dahil sa pag-una mo riyan sa barkada mo eh ang laki na ng nawala sa atin!"

Bumuga ako ng hangin at saka umiling-iling.

"Sabrina, let's stop this guessing game! Kung may kasalanan ako, sabihin mo hindi iyon-"

"What the hell!" I growled when someone just punched my face.

Nayanig saglit ang mundo ko pero kaagad din akong nakabawi at nagulat ako nang mapagtantong ang nakatatanda ko palang kapatid na si Spike ang sumapak sa akin.

"What's the hell is wrong with you people?!" I growled my two elder siblings. 

I wonder why is he here the last time I check he's in Italy. I licked my lips and I taste my own blood. 

Spikes eyes are full of anger. He's so frustrated. Sabrina's on his side trying to stop him from attacking me but she fails to stop him. He goes near to me and I received one more punch again!

"What the hell is happening here?" Mom asked.

"That jerk punches me without any reason!" sabi ko sabay turo sa kapatid kong hawak ni Sabrina.

"I punched you because you did the stupidest thing in your entire life!" he growled and pointed his finger at me.

 I really hate it when someone is pointing their fingers at me. I just hate dahil pakiramdam ko ang baba ko.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" I insisted.

"Don't act as if you're innocent here!" 

The anger in his eyes is still there. I don't know why he's acting like this. What the hell I did this time?

"Enough of this bullshit!" said my mom.

I look mom and I saw that she's so stressed or something. Sabrina's now on her side trying to comfort her because mom starts to break down. I got stiffed because of the scene I saw. Did I really do something wrong? I can't remember!

"Your dad's in the hospital, he's in a coma right n-now" mom's voice broke. 

I can't move after hearing those things from her. I wanna ask why and how did it happen but there's no even single word comes out from my mouth.

"And it's because of what you did!" Spike shouted at me and he pinpoints his finger on me. 

How come it became my fault?

"I didn't do something wrong to make dad in that situation, Spike. I don't really know what you're talking about" I said.

"Don't play innocent here, cause you're not! Lumayas ka ngayon sa pamamahay na ito, wala kang silbi!"

Napahalakhak ako.

"Ako, walang silbi? So mataas ang tingin mo sa sarili mo dahil ikaw may trabaho na samantalang ako studyante pa lang? Ganyan pa ang sistema sa bahay na ito? Kung sino 'yong walang silbi palalayasin?!" mariin kong sabi sa kanilang tatlo.

I licked my lips. I tried to hold my own emotions and tears but I just couldn't help it.

"Why are you really doing this to me? Just please tell me what did do to make things clear."

"Oh talaga, wala kang alam? Diyan ka naman magaling eh sa pagpapanggap mo. Lumayas ka ngayon din, at h'wag ka ng babalik sa pamamahay na ito!" sigaw ng kapatid ko sa akin.

Isang hirit pa Spike, sasapakin na kita!

"No, you can't do that to your brother Spike he doesn't deserve to be away from us," mom is crying in Sabrina's arms. I look Sabrina and I saw her crying too. 

Nasasaktan ako sa nakikita ko, at the same time nalilito.

"He deserves it, mom. Pinaghirapan ni Dad na palaguin ang kompanya pero anong ginawa ng magaling mong anak? He canceled the meetings para sa malalaking investors and clients para lang unahin ang mga lakad niya at ang barkada niya! Sinapak niya pa ang anak ng isang chinese investor natin kagabi, and his father was very furious, bigla niyang sinugod si Dad dito sa bahay and threatened to pull out his investments if he could not tame this bastard!" Spike explained.

I c****d my head and mocked a laugh.

"Just because of the canceled meetings and that threat ay palalayasin mo ako? Tatawagin mo akong walang silbi? Edi, ikaw na ang magaling! Palagi namang ikaw diba? Tapos ako parati na lang mali-"

Natigil ako nang lumagapak ang pisngi ko dahil sa sampal na natanggap ko sa ina ko.

"H'wag mong sagutin ng ganyan ang kapatid mo, hindi kita pinalaking bastos! Wanna know why your Dad was in a coma? Your actions last night had a domino effect on our company. Mr. Evans is our biggest prospect investor and he just decided na kanselahen na ang pag-invest sa kompanya dahil sa pangatlong beses mong pagkansela sa meeting, because of that, the board concluded how incompetent you are as a leader, at kanina lang after we received a call from your professor na binastos mo umano ay nagpatawag bigla ng meeting ang board by 10 am and voted to remove you and be replaced by your uncle Ceasar."

Natahimik ako, parang nawalan ng gana. Ba't ang bilis ng pangyayari? Hindi pa naman umabot ng 24 hours ang ginawa ko pero may resulta kaagad. I've already told them, wala akong alam sa pag-handle ng business, but they did not listen until these shits happen!

Pero ba't ang bilis naman makagalaw ng galamay ni Uncle Ceasar? Oh, I forgot, when money talks, everything is in flashed!

"Your dad convinces the board to give you a chance, but your uncle Ceasar made a pole in the employees, if they should give you a chance or not, and the result was that you are not given a chance because of your incompetence and the way you treat the employees. For them, you are not a leader and you don't heartily belong to RPECS, and the company is no longer in our control. After that inatake  sa puso ang daddy niyo. Dinala namin siya sa hospital but may pumutok na ugat leading him into a coma!" 

My mom cried after her long explanation. Hindi ako makagalaw sa kinatatayuan ko, nanghina ako sa mga narinig ko, pero parang tumigil ang mundo ko sa mga sunod na sinabi ni mommy.

"I think tama pala ang desisyon ni Spike. H'wag mong isiping inaabandona kita, kailangan mo munang magpalamig dahil magulo pa ang kompanya. Some of the board members wanted the RPECS to be in our control and not on Ceasar's. Just leave the country for now, sa Pilipinas ka muna, magpalamig habang inaayos namin ang problemang ito," dagdag pa niya.

"Can't I just handle this one? Ako naman yong may kasalanan di ba?"mahinang sambit ko.

"No, wala ka ngang alam sa business di ba? So paano mo ito aayusin? Just do what mom told you, leave and just come back here if you already learned your lessons," my brother said before leaving my room.

Pumikit ako nang mariin at huminga nang malalim.

Alright, I'm the culprit, and a culprit must be punished. Luckily, I'm not executed and would only be exiled. 

Napailing ako, not a funny joke though.
