HERO POV I stood frozen, my mind a whirlwind of confusion. Tabitha and I were the only wolves left standing, the rest either injured or fallen unconscious. A split-second decision hung in the air: pursue after Zara, who the creature had captive or stay with Tabitha and the wounded group. I knew I couldn't abandon them, their lives hanging by a thread. It was a decision that weighed heavily on my conscience. Though, I couldn't bear the thought of that creature taking Zara away. “I will try to get them conscious.
