Supermarket encounter
Chapter 1 The story began on a typical day, one of those exhausting days during my time in college. After endless lectures and assignments, I decided to stop by the supermarket to pick up some bread. You know how it goes for us ladies; we never leave with just what we planned to buy. We always want more. As I was casually browsing through the aisles, a captivating sight interrupted my shopping routine. There he was, a man who embodied perfection in my eyes—handsome, impeccably dressed, with a height that seemed just right, and a dark complexion that was simply irresistible. A well-groomed beard framed his face, and his scent was an intoxicating mix that momentarily stole my breath away. My heart skipped a beat. In that serendipitous moment, he approached me with a warm smile that revealed endearing dimples. “Hi, I’m Jordan,” he said. The effect of his charm was almost overwhelming, leaving me momentarily speechless. “My name is Julian,” I finally managed to reply. As I reached for a bag of flour from the shelf, he asked, “Julian, can you bake?” I couldn’t help but smile, feeling a surge of confidence. “Yes,” I replied, “I can cook, I can bake, I can do anything.” He grinned in response. “Wow, I’d love to taste some of your creations someday.” In that instant, I realized that I liked this man—a lot. But there was a catch. I was in a committed relationship with someone else, someone I didn’t want to betray. So, I made a quick excuse to rush to the checkout counter, hoping to avoid any further interaction with Jordan. I couldn’t risk falling for him, even though the allure was undeniable. Still, what about my own feelings? I was caught in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. As I hurried to pay for my groceries, I noticed Jordan was also at the opposite end of the supermarket, wrapping up his own shopping. Luckily, I finished first and made a swift exit, determined to put distance between us. I didn’t want to face Jordan again because I knew that each encounter would make it harder to resist the magnetic pull I felt toward him. Yet, his scent lingered in the air, a blend of woody, musky, and lavender notes that continued to fascinate my senses. His face was etched in my mind, impossible to forget. I walked as fast as possible to avoid making eye contact with the handsome man again
