Ellis checked the time in his pocket watch a dozen times before finally descended the carriage. A long staircase stared back at them, flowers aesthetically tied around the handrails. Fancy lights adored the lamp posts and some lines of trees leading up to stairs. The Alpha helped Anna along the way, noticing her grip tightening around. Meanwhile, Seth got busy scanning the area for potential threats, so the King decided to walk ahead.
King Camden and his mate, Queen Celia, stood by the door to welcome them. He couldn't help but notice Anna's nervous fingers fiddling with her overcoat. Unable to stop himself, Ellis rested a warm hand at the small of her back, making her breath hitch. She widened her eyes, still focusing on their steps ahead.
