Chapter Four Konrad rose early the following morning and made his way directly to the house of Igor Lyubov. This death may have differed from the others in many respects, but it was still inflicted by ostensibly natural causes; he was therefore surprised to find Nuritov and two of his colleagues at the house when he arrived. The inspector grinned at him as he approached, looking far too cheerful for a homicide detective this early in the morning. ‘I guessed you’d be turning up,’ said Nuritov cheerfully. ‘I wish more of my men—paid professionals, mind—were as dedicated as you.’ Konrad chuckled. ‘I need to keep busy.
