CHAPTER FIVE REINA “Reina, can you hear me? Are you awake?” I heard someone call out to me and I slowly opened my eyes before shutting it back tightly. My head felt like it had been split open. “Michael?” I whispered softly as I opened my eyes again and my vision finally adjusted to the light. I saw Micheal staring at me in worry as he helped me sit up on my bed and I let out a pained sigh. “How do you feel?” He asked and I held my head in pain. “My head hurts a bit. What happened? All I remembered was bumping into someone…” “You bumped into Eugene, Mr Robert's first son. He's very merciless. Let's be glad he didn't pull a trigger over your head.” He replied and I sighed as I rubbed my temples gently. “Is he always like that?” “As far as I know, yes. His hatred for his father knows no bounds and I'm sure he hates everyone just as much. The best thing I can advise you is to pray that you never cross paths with him. He's very deadly and dangerous.” He muttered and I shivered in fear as I shook my head to get his angry face away from my head. “Is he gone now?” I asked and he nodded gently when his phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket. “Excuse me, I have to take this.” He said as he placed his phone over his ear and hurriedly walked out of my quarter. Ugh, how could someone be so strong? He could have killed me! I got out of bed and headed for the kitchen so that I could get a glass of water. Just as I walked into the kitchen, I heard Sharon talking to someone in a hushed tone. Curious, I got closer and listened carefully as my ears picked up her whispered words. “We can't let him meet with Eugene again.” She whispered and when I took a peek at who she was talking to, it was Alexander. “I know. Father had always loved him more, I'm afraid he might not even consider me to take over his company.” Alexander replied and I frowned. The almighty spoiled brat was fighting for his father's company? “You need to do your best! I'll make sure Eugene never steps his feet in this house again, even if it means getting rid of him!” She said and my eyes widened at her words. Was she this vicious? “Mom, I-” Those were the last words I heard before I felt something hard hit my head and I lost consciousness. When I finally opened my eyes, I was in an unfamiliar environment. My head was pounding so hard, and my vision was so blurry I couldn't see clearly. I tried to sit up but ended up falling back to the bed that was softer than anything I had ever laid on. Was this a dream? “You're awake?” I heard someone say and my heart rate spiked immediately. I couldn't see who it was even when he came closer and sat beside me. “Who…” I managed to mumble, but he simply chuckled as his hand stroked my hair gently. I tried to move away, but I was too weak to escape. “Don't worry… I'm not gonna hurt you.” I heard him say before my vision darkened and I fell unconscious again. When I woke up again, I realized that the headache was gone and my vision wasn't blurry anymore but I was still in that unfamiliar room. It wasn't a dream? Where in the world am I? All I remembered was… I immediately sat up when I realized that I had been kidn*pped. But Mr Robert's house was very strict and packed with bodyguards. How come I was taken away so easily? My eyes caught sight of a figure standing by the window and my eyes widened when he turned around to look at me. It was Eugene. I was f****d. “Seems like you're finally awake. How was your beauty sleep?” He said teasingly and I immediately got off the bed and knelt on the floor. “Forgive me, Mr. Eugene. Pouring that tea on you was an accident. You can hand me the suit and I'll wash it and bring it back to you sparkling clean.” I pleaded as I kept my face down to the floor and laughter erupted from him like I had said something very funny. “You're different, I like that.” He said as he walked up to me and crouched down before placing his finger on my chin and making me look at him. “You think I brought you here because of the suit?” He asked in amusement as he suddenly gripped my chin harshly and I bit down on my tongue to stop myself from making any sound. “Trying to be strong? Let's see how long you can last.” He muttered as he pushed me to the ground and I clenched my fists before getting back on my knees and bowing my head. “Forgive me, Mr. Eugene. I'm just a servant to Mr. Robert; I beg that you tender justice with mercy and let a poor girl like me go.” I said firmly even though my voice was shaky and my body was trembling. “Justice with mercy? I love your way with words. I'm sure I'll enjoy our stay together.” He said with a grin and my head shot up to look at him in shock. “What? You didn't hear me well? You're not going back to Robert. I brought you here because you now work for me.” He explained and my head spun wildly at his words. I had just moved from the pan to the fire. “Mr Eugene, there must be a misunderstanding-” “Misunderstanding?” He repeated as he cackled like a maniac before gripping my chin harshly and bringing my face close to his. “There's no misunderstanding here, darling. You're my property now. I'll treat you better, I promise.” He said with a teasing grin, and I shook my head as I clasped my hands together. “Please, let me return to Mr Robert. I'm paying off my parents’ debts by working for him. If I now work with you, my parents will be in danger. Please, Mr. Eugene-” My words were cut short when he slapped me hard and pulled me close by grabbing my shirt. “When I say you're my property now, understand that you're my property. You're mine now!”
