AFTER LEAVING STARBUCKS, I drove home, thinking about the conversation I’d had with Caden. It had been such a relief to learn that he wasn’t the person who’d abused Phalen. And the fact that he hadn’t gotten angry about me calling Child Services also said a lot. It definitely made me see him in a new light. There was still the question of where Collin was. Had he fled town? Or... had he actually been murdered, like Trina believed?
I wondered if she’d even known about her boyfriend being a pedophile. I didn’t think so. She was so passionate about finding his murderer. Of course, what did I really know about the woman either? She could be in denial about his perversions, or just plain crazy. Especially if he was the mean, vile druggie that Caden claimed him to be. What k
