I try opening my eyes, but they feel so heavy. A sharp pain shoots through my head and I wince in pain. Seconds later, I finally open my eyes as a white ceiling welcomes me. I blink my eyes to be sure of where I am. I mean, I can’t possibly in my room, because our ceiling is not as beautiful and clean as the one I’m staring at now. So, where the hell am I?
“You’re finally awake,” an unfamiliar voice sound in the room, and I tilt my head slowly to see the blurry figure of a man in a white coat, hovering over me with a wide smile on his face. I blink my eyes a couple of times before my vision becomes clear. The man is a doctor, and it seems like I’m in a hospital room.
“What’s going on?” I ask confusingly, trying to recall what happened, and that’s when everything starts playing in my head, as though it’s just happening. I recall leaving the house for work and a car knocked me down. It was my fault; I didn’t pay attention to the traffic rules.
“Are you feeling pain anywhere?” the male doctor places his palm on my forehead to examine me, and I just nod.
“For how long have I been here?” I ask to be sure of what awaits me at home. I’m sure my dad won’t spare me today.
“You’ve been here for a few hours now,” he replies to me, and I snap my head to look at the wall clock. It’s late in the night already. I’m screwed.
“I need to, doc,” I jump off the bed and start removing the infusion in my hand, but the doctor stops me.
“What do you think you’re doing?” the doctor pin me down to the bed, while I struggle to free myself from his grasp. The sudden pain in my head makes my eyes spin, and that’s all I remember as my vision suddenly becomes blank.
I don’t know how many hours I'd been out, but the sudden brightness that shines brightly on my face makes me force my eyes open. It’s morning already. I touch my bandaged head and groan tiredly. I feel much better than yesterday.
The door suddenly opens and a strange young man walks inside. He is tall and slim, his skin is flawless and smooth, his pointed nose is so beautiful, his pink lips look soft and tempting, his raven hair is beautiful and shines beneath the light, his black outfit suits him perfectly, and his body looks like that of the hot models.
My mouth drops open at the epitome of handsomeness standing before me. I have been in existence for a whole twenty-three years, but I’ve never seen someone this handsome. Is he from this planet or am I the one hallucinating?
“Hi!” his smile is everything you would want to wake up to every morning; his beautiful scent fills every corner of the room, and I’m already getting intoxicated by his sweet scent.
“Hi!” my heartbeat increases rapidly, as I behold his hazel eyes that can melt anyone’s heart with just a glance. Damn! How can someone be this beautiful? Yes, he’s a man, but he’s everything beautiful.
“How’re you feeling now?” he asks, taking a seat on the chair beside the bed. Could he be one of the nurses? But he’s not dressed like one.
“I’m fine,” I manage to reply to him. My tongue feels as though it is suddenly tied down to my mouth. Just the sight of him gives me this strange feeling I can’t seem to understand.
“Uhm…forgive me for my manners. My name is Vitya,” this is my first time hearing about this name. Maybe it’s a special name. Besides, special names are given to special people. I stare at him blankly, still lost in thought of where I knew him from.
“I’m sorry, you ran into our car yesterday, so we had to rush you down here. Are you feeling ok now?” he explains and I nod slowly.
“I’m sorry about that. I was late for work and had to rush, but unfortunately, I didn’t notice that there was a car coming,” I explain and he nods. After I have breakfast, he finally drives me home. Of course, I didn’t want him to, but what was I supposed to do when he insisted to? It’ll be rude of me to still decline it, right?
As he drives on the road, my heart keeps racing as the fear of what my dad would do to me, flash through my mind. I know he doesn’t care about me, the only thing that will make him beat the hell out of me, is the fact that I didn’t return home yesterday to cook for him. As far as he’s concerned, I can die for all he cares.
“What’s your name?” the stranger asks. Yes, he’s still a stranger to me, so I feel it’s not safe to tell him my name, even if he acted nice. The world is no safe place now, and I wouldn’t want to fall into evil hands.
“I’ll drop here, sir. Thanks so much for your time and care,” I thank him s he stops the car.
“It’s nothing,” he smiles at me before I step out of the car. My house is still far from here, but ill just trek down there. After a few minutes of walking, I finally sight our house and my heart skips like a million times. The sudden urge to turn back from here and start running for my life spur through me, but where will I go from here?
I drag my feet until I get to the entrance door and I stop to calm my rough and hard heartbeat. I take a deep breath before I finally push the door open. His deadly welcomes me into the living room, and I freeze on the spot as a strong wave of fear spurs through me. I’m doomed!
