Nicolai keeps pacing in his room as their words echos in his head. Wondering how he will go about this, he releases a deep sigh and crashes on his bed. After the meeting with the chiefs, he had driven straight to his penthouse in the city to have some alone time and think of what next to do. He wanted to make them reject his mate as well, revealing her identity, but it seems like they don't care about her identity. They just want an alpha and a Luna.
He tries to figure out a way to solve the whole mess, but his brain keeps disappointing him. Where will he start from? How will he go about this? He can't just walk up to the lady and ask her to marry him, right? That's not done anywhere, no matter how bad it is.
"What to do?" He mutters under his breath, staring up at the ceiling.
Staying in the room for so long and already getting bored, he finally leaves the house and drives to the beach to clear his head. Maybe, he can see a b***h there to lay tonight. The drive to the beach is cool and calm, as it's a sunny day. He finally arrives at the beach, where a lot of people are having fun. Ladies are dressed in bikinis, some are with their boyfriends, while some are alone, chilling with themselves.
The corner of his lips twitches into a smirk as he feeds his eyes with the marvelous sight before him. They're all humans, so it's a big turn-off for him. Maybe he'll just watch them and go back home to figure out what to do about this whole s**t.
"Excuse me, please," a feminine voice catches his attention from his back, and turning around to check the person out, behold, it's Zia. She's carrying a big box and she looks like she's going to collapse anytime soon.
"Mate!" His wolf growls excitedly inside him, the sight of her makes him so happy, and craves for her.
"Can you help me drop this, please," she pleads in between thick breaths. There's another box on top of the one she's holding.
For the next one minute, he got lost staring at her for no reason. As she squints her eyes, he can't help admiring her beauty. He didn't get to see her very well the other time, and now that he is seeing her, he finds her beautiful. Her long thick black curly hair cascades down her shoulders, with some strands flopping over her face. Her skin is soft and flawless, glowing beneath the soothing sun. Her pair of deep blue eyes fascinate him and his eyes melt at the sight of them. Her pointed nose adds to her heavenly beauty. Damn! He can only doubt if she's a human, or maybe one of his kind. She can't possibly be a demon. It's only werewolves and other magical creatures that can be as down-to-earth as she is now.
"My hands are hurting already, can you please," her voice finally brings him back to reality and he quickly helps her bring the box down. She manages to drop the remaining one, and collapse beside it afterward.
"Gosh!...thank you," she says to him breathlessly. Her forehead is covered in beads of sweat, and she looks so tired.
He stares down at her, his heart beating rapidly. He keeps wondering why his body is reacting in such a manner. Finally, he turns around and heads back to his car, driving out of the place afterward...
Zia Vladimir
"Hey...hey! Your phone!" I run after the car, trying to catch up with it, but he's already gone. He dropped his phone mistakenly.
I stare at the phone in my hand for seconds and I sigh, shoving it into my bag. I'll find a way to return it later. I've had a long day at work today. It's Monday today, so I couldn't have bargained for less. The restaurant is always busy on Mondays and Fridays, so it's a normal thing for me.
This beach happens to be one of the best in town, and we make sales here very well. It's my turn to supply them with ice cream today. This is the only chance I always get to have fun, and I don't usually miss it for anything else.
"Zia..." That's Clara, one of the big girls that do come here to have fun with her boyfriend. Clara and I have been friends for some time now, and I must confess that she's nice. We're not so close though.
"Hey..." I wave at her as she walks over to me.
"You're finally here. It has been a few days since you were last here. Is everything alright? I would've come over to your house to check up on you, but unfortunately, I have no idea where you live," she whines and I smile at her. It's a good thing she doesn't know where I live. It would've been a disaster if Vladimir had found out that someone came to see me. I would've explained until my mouth starts to bleed.
"I'm fine. Have just been taking care of things back at the restaurant," I reply to her and she nods.
"Alright. Guess what?" She comes to sit beside me on the beach and I roll my eyes. Clara always has something to talk about. She's from a wealthy family, and according to rumors, she hardly makes friends with people, but I have no idea why she wanted to be my friend from the first day we both met. It was raining that afternoon. I had come to deliver ice cream here as always, but unfortunately, the rain started and it was kind of rough. I tried to find shelter, but couldn't and she showed up from nowhere and helped me out.
"I'm not good at guessing, you know that," I roll my eyes at her and she scoffs.
"Whatever! I got you this," she brings out a small box from behind her and my eyes almost pop out of their sockets. Wait! Isn't that a phone?
