chapter 1
The Don Mafia Group wasn’t just feared it ruled. Politicians bowed quietly. Rivals moved carefully. And the streets whispered one name with equal parts, fear and fascination. Yin. The youngest mafia leader in the region, yet the most ruthless of them all. A man who didn’t forgive betrayal… or lies. His silence was more terrifying than another man’s rage, and his presence alone could freeze a room. People admired him openly and trembled privately. The nation knew him. The underworld worshipped him. And countless people chased his influence, hoping to get even a drop of the power that dripped from his name. But Yin had no interest in any of them. Women threw themselves at him. Men envied him. Some fought to be close to him; others flirted with danger just to be noticed. They wanted the money, the connections, the doors his name automatically opened. He learned long ago that most people came for what he had not for who he was. Love? He didn’t believe such a thing existed anymore. His companions beautiful, loud, desperate answered whenever he called. They wanted to be claimed by him, but no one met the hidden expectations he never voiced. So Yin buried himself in work instead, where loyalty could be bought, and disappointment could be eliminated. He spoiled whoever he spent the night with luxury hotels, diamonds, and first-class trips but he never claimed anyone. Not in public. Not even in private. They dreamed. He didn’t. Today was one of those days when power weighed heavily on his shoulders. Yin sat at the long marble table of an exclusive government building, the kind no one entered without clearance. Thick files, confidential documents, and silent stares filled the room. The meeting had been tense politicians always tried to look brave around him, but their hands betrayed them. When the final signature was made, Yin stood, ready to leave. The doors swung open. A familiar voice cut through the stiff atmosphere. “Yin!” Noted walked in one of the only people Yin allowed close. Another mafia leader, dangerous in his own right, but nowhere near as feared. Where Yin was cold and unreadable, Noted was loud, mischievous, and annoyingly persistent. Yin’s stoic expression softened, just slightly. He stepped forward and hugged him a rare gesture only Noted ever received. You missed the boring part,” Yin murmured. “That’s why I came after,” Noted laughed. “I need you for something.” Yin’s brows lifted. “I’m not in the mood for your nonsense.” “It’s not nonsense,” Noted insisted, dropping into a seat. “There’s a new business. I want to partner up, but I need your eyes on it.” “No.” “Yin,” Noted groaned. “It’ll be fun. No cameras, no politics, no enemies waiting to shoot us. Just a simple trip.” “I’m busy.” “Private jet,” Noted added quickly. Yin stared. “And,” Noted continued, leaning forward, “I promise zero danger. Completely safe.” Yin didn’t believe that for a second. But he sighed, defeated. “Fine.” Noted grinned like a child. “Pack your black suits, Don. Japan to Singapore. We leave tonight.” Yin didn’t know it yet… But the trip he reluctantly agreed to would destroy every rule he had ever lived by. Including the one he guarded the most: Never fall in love. Tee The Boy Who Loved the Wrong Person In a quiet Singaporean community lived a boy named Tee, gentle hearted and painfully loyal. He had married his childhood sweetheart a girl he once believed would walk through life with him. But she outgrew him, or at least, outgrew the version of him she had built in her head. She wanted more. More money. More luxury. More attention. More of everything Tee could not give. She refused to have a child with him, claiming he didn’t have the resources to raise a family. And Tee, blinded by love, never questioned her words. He worked harder. Picked up extra shifts. Mortgaged the small apartment his parents had gifted him the same parents who cut him off because he chose Business Law instead of following their dream of him becoming a criminal lawyer. And still, his wife left. Not officially. She disappeared… then reappeared only when she needed more money. She would call, text, demand, disappear again a cycle that drained him slowly. Tee wasn’t a social media person, but his small circle of friends always showed him the pictures and videos she posted smiling with other men, traveling, partying, living a life she never allowed Tee to enjoy.“Divorce her,” they said. “She doesn’t love you,” they warned. “She’s using you.” But Tee held on to the memory of the childhood sweetheart she used to be, not the woman she had become. He knew the relationship was over. But a piece of him still wished she would come back. Life didn’t slow down for him it only pushed him further. The Assignment That Changed Everything One morning, Tee’s office handed him a rare opportunity: He was to accompany two high profile international clients to inspect a piece of land they wanted to acquire. Tee wasn’t told who exactly they were only that security would be tight and the deal was big. His very first major assignment. He arrived early at the site, lost in his thoughts and wounds as usual. Then the black vehicles rolled in. Bodyguards stepped out first, scanning the environment like shadows with guns. Tee stiffened What kind of clients needed this level of security? But he didn’t overthink it. He just straightened his shirt and forced himself to look professional. A few minutes later, the real mystery arrived. Two men stepped out. Noted all charm, confidence, and mischief. And beside him… Yin. The infamous mafia boss. The man feared in multiple nations. The Alpha presence that could silence a room with a glance. Tee didn’t know who he was. But Yin knew immediately that Tee wasn’t like anyone he’d seen before. The moment Yin’s eyes landed on Tee, his breath caught in his throat briefly, sharply before he forced his expression back into the cold, unreadable mask of a mafia king. He hid it well, but something inside him shifted. Noted greeted Tee loudly, explaining the land acquisition process, but Yin stayed silent. Observing. Calculating. Pretending he didn’t care. Tee, excited and nervous, walked them through the land details. His company had never trusted him with something this big before, and he was determined to succeed. Yin watched him the entire time the way Tee talked with enthusiasm, the way his eyes lit up when explaining documents, the way his smile flickered between shyness and hope. Cute, Yin thought reluctantly. Dangerously cute. After the inspection, the men moved to sign the papers. Yin wanted Tee’s contact for business, or for reasons he refused to name. But Tee’s polite professionalism didn’t allow him to get close. So Yin silently instructed one of his bodyguards: “Get me his information.” The Departure On the flight back, Noted slept. The bodyguards worked. Yin stared out the window, jaw tense. He couldn’t stop thinking about Tee. Meanwhile, Tee went home to an empty apartment, a pile of debts… and a heart broken again by another message from his estranged wife asking for money. The universe had never been kind to Tee but it had just placed him in the path of a man who didn’t believe in love… A man who might break every rule he lived by just to reach him.
