When I was 29, I received a large inheritance.

From William, the math prodigy.

According to the lawyer, he only had one last wish.

Every year on the anniversary of his death, I need to bring a bouquet of jasmine flowers to his grave and talk to him.

Just me, no family.

chapter 1
Willaim died in the river on a snowy day, causing a stir online. Eight months ago, he won the Fields Medal for probability theory. In the official picture, the handsome man is wearing white lining. His fingers are very beautiful and he is holding a golden pen, which makes a group of fans crazy. A month later, I got a call from William's lawyer. He said Willaim left his whole estate to me. He also gave me a box. “William said you could open it. ” I opened it with mixed feelings. Inside was a jumble of paper, used pens, and a scratched exercise book. They were all what I lost. There was a Post-it note on the side. “I give up.” I sat on the floor, looking through the mess. Little by little, William's love for me became clear. Does he love me? My high school genius deskmate loved me for over ten years. I cried. I crashed, sleeping nearly 24 hours. When I woke up, ldonated his inheritance to his college. I washed my face and carried on with my life. I think of that cold boy all the time. During lunch breaks in high school, was there ever a time when he touched my head? He kept on trying to work out if love was real. Three years after he died, I saw the bridge he had jumped off on the motorway. I was stunned. A big lorry drove by, the driver swerving, the impact making me dizzy. I saw William standing alone at the bridge's edge. His eyes were full of pain and despair. I felt suffocated. I fell into the river like him. I was back in my second year of high school. It had been a year since I had shared a table with William. I sat on the wooden bench, my body swaying and making a creaking sound. Jessica whispered to remind me that all the classmates were watching me. “Monica,What are you doing?” The teacher was expressionless as he tapped out a complicated equation on the blackboard. I blinked. I lowered my head. “Sorry, teacher, I don't know.” The class laughed. William looked at me too, his gaze clear and bright with doubt. He looked away when he realised he was staring at me. The teacher was angry and slapped the table. 'Go to my office after class!' I sat down. I looked at William. The teenager's face was clean and glistening in the afternoon sunlight. He wasn't listening to the class and was reading a foreign book. He was always alone. I've known him for three years. When I came back from the teacher's office, I looked at my high school textbooks and felt like dying. I lay on the table and rubbed my head with my school uniform sleeve. I looked up and saw William's puzzled eyes. I laughed and bit my cheek. I poked his arm and said, “Willaim , can you help me with my tuition?” Willaim frownedMaths?” I smiled awkwardly, "All of them.”
