You're late, brother.
As the sun set, Alina gazed out into the horizon and, without breaking her gaze, she spoke to the servant beside her.
"When does the banquet start?"
"Eight o'clock your grace"
" Leave me"
And with that, the servant left, leaving the princess to her thoughts.
Once the servant left, Alina said with a stern expression,
"You can come up now."
Suddenly, a tall handsome man who was probably a few years younger than her climbed up her balcony.
"Hey sis, what's up," said the man with a smile plastered on his face.
"Malcolm, what is wrong with you? Shouldn't you be getting ready for the banquet ?" Alina asked angrily. She was visibly annoyed by her younger brother's nonchalant attitude.
"Hey, just chill, okay? I still have time to get ready."
" Malcolm, you know how much this means to mom and dad..."
" Yeah, and Aunt Shannon, Uncle Jeffrey, Grandma, and Grandpa. I get it, but what about us? I don't even know why we're going. Why can't they do their stuff by themselves?"
" You're eighteen Malcolm, you are an adult, but if you ask me you could pass for a five-year-old."
After saying that, she walked away with a very disappointed look on her face. Malcolm glared at her back a bit before walking away. He loved his sister but he felt she was too serious at times.
The only reason he even had to climb up her balcony was because he had snuck out for a bit. They had both agreed that Malcolm would be back by seven o'clock but he was an hour late and Alina did not take such things lightly.
Malcolm walked to Alina's bedroom door. His room wasn't far from hers so he could just sprint down the hall when he was sure that no one was watching him and that was exactly what he did.
