Haily's pov
I walk my last round through the house, to make sure I didn't forget something. No way in hell I was coming back here.
I grab my last suitcase and walk to my car. The moment I was step into my car, Kevin runs to me. "Please Haily, don't go, give us one more chance, we can get through this." He begged me.
"ARE YOU F*CKING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! You cheated on me! With my best friend! And then lied about it. I hate you both and I never want to see you again!" I yelled at him.
How on earth does he think I'm giving him a second chance? I step in my car and drive away without looking back.
Kevin cheated on me, not just cheating but with my best friend, Well, ex-best friend now. I had my suspicions, but after I caught them in the bar I knew for sure. I ran straight home and called a friend. And you know what? Everybody knew, except me! So I did the only thing I could do. I packed my stuff and left. I'm moving to another town. I want nothing to do with my so-called "friends anymore".
I still can't believe nobody said something.
After driving a couple of hours I arrive in a small town, Westville. I'm lucky, as a freelance writer I can work anywhere.
In the morning I booked a room in the only hotel that this town has. It looked nice and warm, that's why I chose this place. It looked like a town you only see in movies. Where everybody knew everybody. I park my car in front of the hotel and walk inside.
I look around but I don't see anybody.
It looked exactly like the pictures. Behind the counter were a couple of pictures from people in front of the hotel. I guess they are the owners or important guests. In the room on the left, is a nice sitting area in front of a little fireplace. The room on the right was the dining room. There were a few small tables with a small candle on each table. Very romantic.
While I was looking around a little woman came walking up. "Hello darling, I'm Pam, what can I do for you?"
"Hello, my name is Haily, I booked a room this morning."
Pam smiled and looked at my suitcases. "That's a lot of baggage, staying for a while?" She asked.
"If I like it here, maybe, but I don't know yet." I answered.
"Well, the people here are very friendly, you will feel at home quickly. I'll see which room we have for you."
I hope she is right. It's beautiful here. She gave me the key to room 6 on the first floor. When I open the door I was speechless.
There is a large bed and a nice desk with plenty of space to work. So that worked out well. I went to the bathroom and when I saw the bathtub I did a little happy dance. I always think better when I have a relaxing bath. It clears my head and after a relaxing bath I always write better.
I walk back to the room and open the curtains. It had the most beautiful view I had ever seen. It looked out on a nice long field with a beautiful lake and a forest behind it.
I was quite tired from the long drive so I decided to take a nap.
The bed was heavenly. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep either.
I woke up with a rumbling stomach, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 7 pm already. No wonder I was hungry. When I looked in the mirror to see if I looked a little presentable I bursted out laughing. My hair was a little bird's nest so it had to be groomed first.
On the way down I ran into Pam.
"Hi Haily, what do you think of your room?"
"Hi Pam, it's gorgeous! And the view, I was speechless, and the bed OMG. It's been a long time since I slept so well."
"Glad to hear you like it."
My stomach is growling loudly. My cheeks turn red and Pam smiles. "Sounds like you could use some food. Let me walk you to the dining room."
I was surprised. For a small hotel like this, there is an amazing amount of food. There is something for everyone. Salads, pasta, vegetables, bread, soup. And a few other things that I had never heard of but certainly looked delicious.
I take a bit of everything, poured some water, and sat down at a table by the window.
When I had finished eating, Pam and a younger man came into the room talking loudly.
"Dean, isn't it time you started looking for your mate? I know you're playing the man w***e!"
"Don't interfere with my s*x life sis. A man has needs you know" He laughs. "And by the way, I don't think my mate belongs to our pack. I've had over half of the she wolfs and none of them were my mate."
I was shocked. Werewolves, serious! I knew of their existence because my aunt was mated to one. I found out by accident and had to promise not to tell anyone. The only reason they didn't take action was because I'm my aunt's favorite.
Pam and Dean were shocked when they saw me. "What did you hear?" Dean asked startled. "Enough." I replied. "But don't worry, I already knew about your existence and I won't tell anyone, don't worry." They looked at each other doubtfully.
"How do you know about us?" Pam asked. "My aunt is mated with one. I had to promise never to say anything. So what is your pack called? What rank are you?" I asked curiously.
Thet looked nervously. "Oh come on! I should know who I'm dealing with. Especially if I plan on staying."
Pam sighed. She grabbed a chair and sat down at the table. After a few seconds, Dean sat down too.
