Laetitia POV I rushed back home as soon as my shift was over feeling excited to fill soph in.When I opened the door,l saw a blank look on soph face “Lati, the agency wants to meet you”sophi said looking down I grabbed her “talk to me soph what’s wrong “ She just sighed and told me they were expecting me sooner I grabbed my bag and a few things and hailed a cab.l got there 25 min later ready to blast them with words because sophi had never been that quiet before. I burst into the room wanting to shout, but I was shoved on a chair and was tied up by a muscular man then he pushed me into a dark cellar. My heart raced not knowing what to do.They knew I was scared of the dark all because sophi couldn’t shut her mouth up. I kept grunting and shouting, sweat already forming beads on my head. I knew it. I was having a panic attack. Suddenly l blacked out hearing footsteps striding towards me.l made a mental note knowing they were up to 5 people.perks of working in the agency I felt cold, angry and ready to yell again to be let out Then I heard a voice saying “Boss she’s awake” “Ooh you did your Job well Roy,the water must have been cold enough”A tall handsome man said and faced me I was splashed? Was the water clean? Ooh my beauty face. I saw Red. I glared at the man in front of me eyeing him from head to toe. My thoughts were cut off when I felt a tingling pain on my chest “You were asked to spy on Sebastian ,” the man said, eyeing me like I was a puzzle he was about to solve. I smirked, wincing a bit from the sting in my chest but playing it cool. “Yes, and?” He raised an eyebrow. “Don’t glare at me like that, woman.” I tilted my head, locking eyes with him, letting the heat of my glare cut through the dim cellar. “Oh, I’m sorry. Should I look like a guilty puppy instead?” His smirk tightened. “Then why were you flirting with him at the park?” I laughed softly, voice dripping with sarcasm. “Flirting? That’s bold of you to call it that. I call it strategic networking.” He shook his head. “Sure, strategic. So, next time, try not to get caught. If you do never mention our agency or you know the consequences” Weird why did he say that wasn’t he the one who sent me on a mission. I crossed my arms, still fierce. “Oh, please. If you wanted me subtle, you should have said so.” “Don’t look at me like that. You know what I mean.” I smirked, leaning back, trying to ignore the sting on my chest. “I’m looking because you’re adorable when you get all serious. It suits you.” He snorted, not amused. “Then why did you tag his car?” “Tag?” I tilted my head. “You mean the parking ticket I ‘intentionally’ left on his windshield? That little ‘no parking’ he trespassed ?” My voice dripped with mock sweetness. “Exactly.” His eyes narrowed. “Why? To annoy him?” I crossed my arms, feigning innocence. “Maybe. Or maybe I just wanted to see if he’d notice. It was all acting. And he noticed me,that’s the only solution I could think of to get close to him.” He paused, then frowned. “And why were you flirting with him at the park?” “I thought I answered this earlier or didn’t l” He growled and I know I’m pushing his buttons and that may end me in deep s**t so I had to answer again with a do answer Flirting? I chuckled dryly. “Flirting? That sounds so formal. I call it ‘professional distracting’.” “Professional distracting?” He c****d his head like I’d just lost my mind. I shrugged, batting lashes exaggeratedly. “Keeps things interesting. Besides, you can’t solve mysteries without a little charm.” “Hmm. Charming enough to raise suspicion.” His voice dropped an octave. “Why were you feeding him information?” My lip quirked up. “Feeding him info? You have a wild imagination.” “Wild or accurate?” He leaned closer, voice barely above a whisper. “You know I don’t like being played.” “Oh, who said I was playing? I’m just… multitasking.” I winked, feeling a rush of adrenaline. “Multitasking? Spying and flirting don’t exactly go hand in hand.” “Says who?” I shot back. “Maybe I’m rewriting the rules.” A flicker of amusement crossed his features before the suspicion returned. “Tell me honestly, are you hiding something?” I laughed, sharp and short. “Hiding? Me? Sweetheart, I’m right here, tied and all. What could I even hide?” He raised his chin, challenging. “Then why the guarded attitude?” I smiled wickedly. “Because I like keeping you on your toes. Can’t have the boss too comfy, now can we?” He scoffed and tapped his finger against his wrist, watching me closely. “And Sebastian ? What game are you playing with him?” I leaned forward, eyes glittering with sass. “Game? Oh please. I’m just the wildcard in that deck.” He shook his head in mock exasperation. “You make my job hard.” “I aim to please,” I shot back, flashing a grin. Suddenly, his expression darkened. “You’re out of line.” “Oh, me? Out of line? Look who’s playing interrogator in a dark cellar.” He stepped closer, voice a dangerous purr. “Careful, Lati.I don’t show mercy.” I shrugged coolly. “Good. Someone’s gotta balance your ruthless charm.” A brief silence stretched, thick with tension and unspoken challenge. Finally, he smirked and said, “Next time you’re ‘professional distracting,’ keep me out of the drama.” I laughed. “No promises, Boss. Drama is my cardio.” He glared, but the corner of his mouth twitched up. “You’re impossible.” “And you’re hooked,” I teased, feeling nervous hoping i managed to lighten his mood He loves when people reply him straight and a little Challenging without blinking twice and I tried to do both at the same time
