When the second preliminary happened, Ryu has entered into a state where he can see an imaginary line of the arrow’s trajectory. It never happened before and it was something that Ryu never experienced before. It was the first time but Ryu felt that it was amazing. He wanted to experience more of that feeling and if he could control it, to see that imaginary line every time he shoots an arrow, he could basically be the best archer that would never miss the target since he knows where the arrow will land.
Although right now Ryu is already one of the best archers out there and he rarely misses his target anymore, but human greed never ends. Ryu is basically in this kind of situation. He wants to experience it again and if can, have full control of it.
