Chapter 3

Alice's P.O.V I must have gotten a few hours of sleep, although not enough, as I felt terrible this morning. I get up and go downstairs where everybody is waiting. It was an emotional breakfast, to say the least. I can't believe I'm leaving. There are lots of hugs and more crying. I go back to my room and get ready for the day. I have an hour till Tony comes to get me. Putting comfortable clothes on as lots of travelling. Large grey t-shirt and black legging with white hi tops, hiar tied up in a pony tail. That will do. I make sure my bags are packed and I have everything. I take them downstairs, ready to go. Sara reminds me to stay in touch. Lisa can't stop crying, saying she will miss me. I tell them I will message when I land and I will miss them all. Just then, there is a knock, and I know it is Tony. Once my stuff is loaded up and another round of hugs and crying, I get in the car a wave bye to the best people I've ever met. We have nearly 2 hours till we get to the airport. The car ride is mainly silent apart from the radio, Tony asks if I'm ok, every so over. I just say yeah. We reach the airport and Tony helps me with my luggage as I have 2 suitcases and a cary on that's all my belongings. Sad, really. Tony makes sure I have my tickets and passport, which he had on him. I guess they got my thing from my grandparents' house, including my birth certificate. "Look I know I can't say anything to make this better and I know we aren't close but you have my number if anything happens and you want to come back let me know and I will help you" Tony said. "I'm sure I will be fine, but thank you," I reply. I give him a hug and go towards security. Luckily, it was not my first time going abroad. I've been with my grandparents, so i know what to do. I still have half an hour till I board, so I grab a drink and a snack and sit near the gate. They call for my plane to start boarding, but I just wait for the queue to go down before I join, I may be English, but I hate queueing. I get on the plane easily and on on rhe stewads tell me if I need anything to let them know, I guess they are used to kids on their own. After the safety instructions we take off, I plug my headphones in and listen to whatever film they are playing. I must have fallen asleep as the steward is waking me to say we are landing. Now I'm getting nervous, meeting new people I don't know. Once we land, I make sure the envelope is at the top of my bag and the photo is there. Once most people have left, I get off following everyone else. Getting my bags was not fun, everyone pushing to get theirs first. Once I got them, I walked out, and I remember I need to go toward Starbucks, which I stop and make my way over. Just as I'm getting the photo of James out, a man approaches me. "I'm guessing your Alice, it's nice to meet you. I'm your cousin james," he held his hand out to shake. As I look up to shake his hand, I notice he's wearing a black suit and is well built. He also looks like someone you don't want to mess with. " Yep, that's me. Thanks for picking me up," I say in a very small voice, gulping at the man in front of me. "Let me help you with your suitcase, and we can get you home and settled in," he says, grabbing both suitcases like they weigh nothing. I follow him, and as soon as we are out of the airport, it is roasting "damn its hot as hell." All James does is laugh at me. " You'll get used to it." I hope they have air conditioning or I may melt in this heat. We get into his car, which is spotless. I don't even want to move in cases where you think I damage it. Thank god he puts the air conditioning on. Now off to my new home.
