Amoroth stumbled down the stairs past the other staff as they made their way out. The earthquakes were becoming more violent. He made it a few more steps before another shudder made him pause. He was shocked to find he was crying. He was afraid, afraid for his life, though he did not know why. He cried because it was over. Something was coming—something he could not possibly face. He realized this now; it was a horrible thing that came. He tripped and cried some more. One of the walls to his right came crashing down, but it fell away from him.
