Val is just a simple midwestern woman who runs her mom's café and helps Max at the shooting range. She has lived in this small town since her she was little, and she doesn't remember her life before coming here. After meeting a stranger today in her café her childhood nightmares return. Val knows nothing of super naturals, and that she is actually part of their world. Val is going to find out super naturals do exist, and is going to be thrown into their world.

"Look alpha, she doesn't know"; Max linked me.

"How did you..."; I started to talk.

"I'm part of your pack but left a long time ago. I occasionally send in reports from out here. You never noticed?" Max linked back.

Now that he mentioned it, I always wondered who Max was on reports. "What do you mean she doesn't know? Doesn't know what?" I linked back quickly before Val returned.

"She doesn't know about our kind, and that she is one. I'll have to explain later", Max linked quickly as Val returned.

What did he mean she doesn't know she is one? Those words resonated in my head. Val quickly snapped me out of my head.

"Baby, there is nothing more that I want to do but make love to you, but we need to talk first." I told her.

I could feel and see her saddened. " Okay, Talk!" She said and looked down.

I pulled her gaze back up to meet mine. I wiped away a tear. I didn't know where to start, but it was now or never. I sat up and sat her up with me. "Do you remember when Damien said mate earlier? And you thought it was weird?" I asked,

"Y-yes", She stuttered.

"And you remember when I said that making love in my people means a life long commitment?" I asked again.

"Yes", she said confused.

"Well Damien and Dy are mates for life, and they will be married. Not that it is required to get married. I've been looking for my mate for 4 years since my 17th birthday, and when I met you the other day I realized that it was you.", I said waiting for Val to take it in.

"So it is a cult thing?", She chuckled, trying to comprehend.

"I don't know how you feel about me baby but I already love you, and I want nothing more to have you as my mate", I blabbered.

Her eyes got big and she had tears in her eyes. "I love you, but I don't understand.", she said.

My heart felt so high, she loved me? I grabbed her hands, "you don't understand the mate thing ?" I asked.

She shook her head no. "Sorry baby I'm trying to explain.... I'm a werewolf." I told her.
