Mason Sunlight from the hospital window wakes me from my sleep the next morning. I’m surprised the nurses have opened it knowing the window is directly to the side of Siara’s bed. It upsets me that they would do such a thing without considering Siara’s comfort, because the suns rays will make the room too warm, even though the air conditioner is on. I should get up and close the drapes, so with that goal in mind I slowly pull my arm out from under Siara, not sparing a glance at her face for fear of being unable to leave for even a second, and get up.
