Chapter 1: This is not happening.
Did you ever experience a day when you feel like its clearly not your day to begin with?.
Like with everything you planned, life decides to gave you the wait a minute pause and reset the path for you without even explaining the new rules.
Like that decision won't make your life feel like its upside down and moving round and round. Expectations.
Meet Helen a twenty-ish rising model who dreamnt of anything and everything but a husband by her side and who can survive anything in this world but a social event.
"Make sure to catch it when I throw the banquet later on, okay?" Her friend Carrie shouted through the music, drunk as humanly possible at eleven in the morning.
Helen knew that her bestie was happy and she couldn't help the smile that tugged the corners of her lips.
"Uhm, but that won't be necessary, would it? Plus, I came alone" Replied Helen steadying her drunk friend who swatted her hands away but before she could speak, Helen's mother came to the frame.
"All the more reasons to grab on to the brides luck to find a good man for you or even if its just a breathing male human if you ask me or it could be a girl for all I care" Said her mother lowering her tone, "Beggars can't be chosers, so they say"
"Mom!"
"What? I'm just saying that you ain't getting any younger sweetheart"
"Shouldn't marriage be for love?"
"Only fools believe in that" Said her mother looking fondly at her husband who raised a glass to her in a silent toast accross the room, "Sometimes, love is cultivated honey"
"Well I would have let you two go on with this..., if it were any day but since its mine, I make the rules!" Shouted Carrie bring the duo back on mother earth.
"Yes, your majesty" Replied Helen clearing her throat. It was always like this everytime she meets with her parents.
"What did he ever see in you anyway?" Commented Helen's mother refering to the groom, "What a temper"
"Right? It makes you wonder too" Replied Carrie with a sad face. Maybe its something that the whole crowd even the groom himself didnt notice but, that marriage was her biggest insecurity.
"So what do you wanna do to me, your majesty" Asked Helen sensing the mood of her bestie.
"Pairing you up with a hottie for naughties!" Replied Carrie without missing a beat.
"No"Replied Helen with a horrified expression but the bride wouldn't have that and just grabbed Helen, leading her towards the best men line excitedly, "Oh, yes! Come on...!"
"You look weird baby"Teased the groom looking at his soon to be bride with his infamous puppy eyes.
"I'm a little bitsy drunk" Explained Carrie moving to him, well, you can call that staggering.
"Just a little bitsy?" Questioned before grabbing her by the waist and pulled her to him naturally, "And you brought our shy Helen to the single wolves? Bad girl"
"I came for Aidan" Announced Carrie looking from Aidan to Helen and let out an excited sound.
"Woah" The boys cheered pushing Aidan towards the left alone Helen.
"I 'preciate the hussle but I'm not that desperate" Said Aidan looking Helen up and down, not leaving a single part unwounded by his disgusting expression.
She expected the rejection because, lets face it they didnt know each other prior to the wedding and they had exchanged no more than two words, 'Hi' and 'Yes' but, for him to use that expression on her and the tone he chose... It just hurt.
Rejection hurt!.
"If you will excuse me, guys. I have somewhere I have to be" Said Helen before running away from there.
She didnt care about her image, how worried her friends and family might be but, she just wanted out of there.
